Nice. Where did you learn this? Is it something you've done before? I learned about it considering an infant adoption and not wishing to use formula. I wanted to know my options.
My breastfeeding counselor had a friend who had done it. I have not done it. She had a friends baby who was having problems with formula. Her friend was unable to breast fedd due to health problems. She had starting pumping for her friend
What a great way to show someone you care! That's a huge commitment, and a huge sacrifice for a friend. I hope my friends would do something like that for me!
That's so interesting. I wonder why it's this new, revolutionary idea then. lol I guess that's just the way of the world.
I'm going to write an article on it explaining this in detail for everyone. Essentially, 2-3 months before necessary, you would just start pumping, every day, every 3 hours or so.
The stimulation tells your body to produce milk.
It takes a lot of work and commitment, and comes with all of the disadvantages breastfeeding moms have, but it's possible.
I guess I worded this question wrong. I was wondering if anyone else was aware of this possibility and what they thought of it. Everyone seems to be answering it more like a morality question.
