No. Any pressure someone feels during holidays is self-inflicted. Generally speaking when it comes to Valentine's Day most men could take or leave it. Women are the ones who typically look forward to it.
Naturally the barrage of advertising makes it difficult to ignore and if you're working in a place where multiple flowers/candy, or items are being delivered it can be a challenge to avoid the Valentine's Day blues if you aren't get anything or have no special plans.
However the reality is most people are so consumed with their own plans that they have no interest in you and your plans. Therefore any pressure you might feel is your own doing.
Having said that if one lives near a major metropolitan city there are lots of events geared towards singles for Valentine's Day - dances, speed dating, and Meetup.com has a ton of singles groups who sponsor events for singles to mingle. No one has to stay home alone unless (they) want to. Even with that there's nothing wrong with relaxing at home when you're comfortable in your skin.
