    When you talk about someone behind their back, why does he/she only hear about the bad things said?

    When people talk about other people, positive and negative things can be said, but most often the positive comments get overlooked when gossiping starts.

    It seems people love gossip, and they won't repeat the good things. They gain nothing from it, but they love dirt on someone, and use the reactions as entertainment . Sad but true, and work places are the we worst!

    It's human nature to focus on things that are going wrong or hurt us. A person could receive 9 positive reviews plus 1 negative one and they will spend more time reading and re-reading the negative review. The same thing happens with school exams where a person gets 9 out of 10 answers correct and they're upset because they did not get a "perfect score". We hate our imperfections.
    With age and experience comes the wisdom of knowing not everyone is going to like you or agree with you on everything.
