"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
Once you go beyond a natural physical attraction towards someone the next important things in my opinion have to do with their personality, sense of humor, and intellect.
If I don't (enjoy being around someone) I could care less about their accomplishments! Over time I'd discover if we share the same values or are on the same page at that particular moment in our lives.
There are various forms of dating such as "casual dating" which I look at as something to do for FUN with no intention of exclusivity.
This was especially true during my teen & college years along with just enjoying the independence and freedom of being a single adult during the "Disco" era. I didn't start to consider the possibility of marriage until I was in my 30s. Timing is very important!
Ultimately the goal when one is "seriously" looking for a mate is to find someone who shares your same values, wants the same things for the relationship that you do, (naturally agree) with you on how to obtain those things and last but not least there is a mutual depth of love and desire for one another. It's a (team) mindset.
Like attracts like and opposites attract divorce attorneys! :)
