It's not (how) you meet but (who) you meet that counts!
My advice would be to research the sites or apps you are considering to find out what their demographic is, niche, and reputation/rating is within the industry. They're not all the same!
Ultimately it comes down to who (you) pursue or say "yes" to.
The best approach is to utilize dating sites/apps as just (another tool) for meeting new people. Much like a (fork) is a tool for eating. You can choose to eat a garden salad or a slice of double fudge chocolate cake. However no obese person would ever blame their (fork) for their weight gain!
And yet people who have bad dating experiences with those they met online will blame the whole online dating industry!
Each of us (chooses) our friends, lovers, and spouse.
Each of us has our own mate selection process/must haves list
Each of us has our own "boundaries" and "deal breakers".
Always use good commonsense when meeting strangers online or offline. Nothing happens until (you) say "yes". Choose wisely!
Truth be told when it comes to love and relationships most of us (fail our way) to success. If this were not the case we'd all be married to our high school sweethearts!
