Do people communicate too well or not well enough?

It's a commonplace to say interpersonal relationships collapse due to 'communication failure'. People just can't seem to communicate their feelings. But is that the problem? In the modern world it seems we're so good at reading every nuance: vocal tone, word choice, facial expression, accentuation of the sentence all communicate layers of unspoken meaning and most of us are able to pick up on it instantly and read another person's true feelings and intentions. Have we become just too good at communicating? Would it be better if we didn't communicate quite so well? Answer as you like.
