What is Love ya'll? I've had to question this so much in my life because of the fact of the pain that has come behind the word. The older I've gotten God showed me the pain His Son went through because He loves us. I said wow, could I do that out of pure love? I said no because of the fact that I have selfishness in my heart, but that makes me question. Am I truly loving? Well of course to answer questions in life we need to turn to the One in life who has All Answers. The word says this:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Man, what a joy to know what true love is. Take heed to this because of the fact there are so many of us who just throw this word around like a football with our friends in the back yard. Think about it, when someone says they love you, why do they say it? Do they exemplify all these qualities in their love? If it's a no in there, then guess what? They don't Truly love you. I didn't say they don't love you, but do they truly love you? Do you truly love? Measure your love up to this passage and see what you come up with. Then realize that love of yourself comes with loving others too. Love thyself as thy neighbor. So many Christians today are so busy being in a box of "being a good Christian," that they forget that Christ loves EVERYBODY. Shouldn't we if we are to live this lifestyle? The word love has been dumbed down because people have forgotten to follow these rules of love to possess the trueness.
