Before you do anything, you must accept the fact that what has happened didn't coincidentally happen.  You must accept this reality and understand this person never liked you and "iF" they did at one time.  Through envy and/or jealousy they've grown to hate you!  Whether you're guilty or innocent.  It's time for you to now pick up your bags and move, keep it moving in a direction that goes the opposite direction from where they stand.  Just accept what has happened for what it's worth.  It's probably saving you from disaster somewhere down the line.

I've had a friend who betrayed me because of a guy. She's a friend since high school somehow, we've been through a lot. I never talked to her about it but i know I've forgiven her. Now, we talk as if nothing happens. At least, though, i've given up the guy. I still have her.

Stick them in a cage with a ravenous carnivore of your choice, then douse that individual in blood gravy and then watch the fun begin.

I guess it depends on the depth of betrayal, was it something important to you?  Did the friend know, or be able to guess how the betrayal would hurt you?  The answer depends on how important the person is to you, and the depth of the betrayal, if they are important to you, can you forgive them, and if so, how long will that take you, and also could you find yourself trusing them again.  These are only questions you can answer and when you know the answers, you can decide what to do......walk away from them, or keep them in your life...just make sure YOU will be happy with the outcome.

If you want to remain friends, accept the fact that their betrayal is part of their behavior.  Just be careful in the future.  If it has hurt you to the point where you can't forgive them, talk about it and move on.  They may come around later and you can mend the broken friendship.  But, either way if you can't move on from the betrayal you don't want to be unhappy with them in your ilfe forever.
