Create a rustic, romantic and vintage ambiance with simple and inexpensive items such as mason jars, fabrics, burlap, thrift-store treasures and more.
Here are some beautiful and inspiring wedding decorations that will wow your guests and save you up to hundreds of dollars for the honeymoon!
Create these beautiful pom-poms in a cinch! All you need is tissue paper, floral wire, and ribbons for hanging. These tissue paper poms can be added to ceilings indoors, hung outdoors on trees, or create mini pom-poms and use them inside mason jars to replace the expensive cost of flowers. Drape string lights and light fabric around the pom-poms to achieve a similar look to the one in the photo above. Click on the picture to view this easy tutorial.
The biggest part of the wedding has to the actual wedding ceremony! Make sure you have beautiful aisle decorations to make the bride glow.
Two personal favorites of mine that can create just about anything, burlap and twine! Who knew such a simple texture could take part in such a luxurious event? Tie burlap around the top ridge of mason jars and securely hook them over aisle chairs for beautiful and inexpensive aisle decorations. Place fresh flowers and fresh water inside the jars like the picture above for an effortless yet romantic look down the aisle.
*Tip: fake flowers, pebbles or LED tea lights also make great substitutions.
*Tip: You can switch the burlap for ribbon or fabric in a color that matches your wedding theme.
Create unique table numbers by painting assigned numbers or letters on old bottles. Get creative and name your tables after jokes or puns you share with your loved ones or friends.
Another big hit amongst Do-It-Yourselfers is chalkboard creations. Create your own blackboard chalk table centerpieces by painting old wine bottlles with blackboard paint and voila! -- A personalized and easy table numbering system for all your guests! Add candles to the bottles, like in the picture above, and you'll have excellent lighting for the dinner reception too!
Take advantage of free printables offered online for table numbering like the picture above. In this example a free printable was used and then placed inside a painted frame. Make sure to also use free printables for invitations, cards and food/drink settings as well.
If you've been following the latest trends in DIY, you may have noticed that Mason Jar projects are all the rage. These mason jar tealight candles are no exception. Simply wrap a mason jar with twine, ribbon or material of your choice. Fill the mason jar up to a 3/4 up with water, light a water-proof tealight candle and allow it to float in the center. If you're worried about adding a real candle, add LED tea light candles sans the water. These mason jar tealights make for beautiful yet simple centerpieces.
Centerpieces add a touch of romance to any dinner party or wedding reception. When it comes to centerpieces, I prefer a classic and vintage look. This can be achieved by simply wrapping twine around old jars, wine bottles and other decorative glass ornaments. To achieve the look pictured above simply wrap old glass bottles in twine, add fake or real flowers, and add water, jewels or pebbles to give your table a natural look.
I am crazy about this centerpiece setup of old bottles and tin cans as centerpieces. Not only is this super cheap to create it looks romantic and adds a touch of nostalgia to the table. Simply find old tin cans and bottles, give them a good wash and wrap with twine, lace, ribbon or silky and shiny fabric. Add fake or real flowers and place in bunches among table centers. *Tip: to create a more modernized look, spraypaint these bottles and tin cans in a silver, white or gold color.
Create a unique bar and drink setup by putting to use old barrels, cabinets, and windows found in second-hand stores, flea markets or even your grandmother's attic, to create a beautiful bar area.
Another great of example of a dramatic and vintage look, and old tin cans, jars, and knick-knacks found at thrift stores. Leave them as-is for a rustic feel or paint them in gold or bronze for a more modernized look. Place fake (or real flowers) inside these cans and jars to create a beautiful drink station. Visit your local Michael's or craft store to accessorize your drink station with woven baskets, and decorative stones and jewels.
Add a fresh coat of blackboard paint to a wooden slab to create a personalized drink menu that looks super vintage.
Simply add ice and your favorite beer to an old wheelbarrow for a truly vintage bar look. The perfect addition for a rustic or vintage bar area.
Place decorative straws at your bar along with mason jars as cups. Place tags and pencils in your drink area so each guest can personalize his/her drink. For eco-conscious couples, Paper straws and mason jars are perfect for eco-conscious weddings and couples, as they will minimize littering and reduce the use of plastic at your party. Classy and eco-friendly!
Photo Booths and Props
A big trend within weddings now a days is photo booths and fun props. You can get crafty and create your own props or buy various props online. Choose props that match your wedding theme or the photo backgrounds. The most popular props tend to be mustaches, sunglasses, lips, hats, and more. *Tip: Grab some old photo frames from your local thrift store, paint them a unique color that matches your theme and add them into the photos for an even more unique photo op.

Add some LED tea lights or Fairy Berries inside mason jars and hang them around your wedding reception area for romantic lighting. Hang the mason jars in rope or twine to create a classic, rustic feel.
Now this is a nice twist on regular string lights. Add doilies to string lights to create a romantic illusion of floating lace.
Easy Burlap Decorations
Who knew such an inexpensive and versatile fabric could be used in a luxurious setting? Use burlap to adorn the matrimony gazebo or use it for a simple touch of vintage on the bride's bouquet for a natural and rustic touch of romance.
Create an inexpensive table runner using burlap and lace! Simply glue or iron-on lace to the edges of the burlap to create a look that adds romance and nostalgia.
Try the simple burlap cones with flowers and ribbon for a nice touch to your dining room chairs or tables. Or hang them in entrances or alongside fencing. These are super easy to make and look like they were store-bought!
Tie burlap to the back of the chairs for the dinner/reception party for an inexpensive and beautiful way to add a classic retro and chic look.
Be sure to leave your guests with a delicious memory of the great time they had. I love these edible take-home treats you can share or keep for later... because let's be honest here, these sweet treats will definitely get put to better use than say your typical cigar and matchbox party favors.

But remember, you don't have to be on a budget to create these beautiful decorations. Let the Martha Stewart in you take over and try these crafts for yourself or a bride-to-be friend.
