While bitter lips states that love is a monster that eats your heart’s flesh out, the sweet ones contradicts this statement.

Truth be told, pain is part of everything including love itself. But, have you ever balanced out which weight is heavier? Is it the pain that tags along or the priceless joy that accompanies with you throughout your journey of romance?

To have a closer look and wider perspective on relationships, let's cite an example.

The 2004 novel-adapted movie, The Notebook influences that love wins no matter the circumstance.

Discussion

To weigh off the query, try to put on Noah Calhoun’s shoe. A young but common fella who fell in love with a rich and beautiful, Allie Hamilton.

The two immediately got along despite their status differences. However, their relationship wasn’t all about excitement and glee.
When Allie’s mother, Anne Hamilton learnt about her daughter’s affair, she wasn’t so happy. She sent Allie away and kept all 365 letters Noah had written for her sweetheart.

With total blindness, Allie decided to move on. In an army house where she worked, she met Lon Hammund, a handsome and rich gentleman. The two had understanding and soon got engaged.

But just when everything was alright, the past haunts her again. One day, a newspaper content flabbergasted her. It was Noah, the first love of her life. The man who she missed for three long years.

On the other side, Noah and his best friend Fin joined the army. Unfortunately, Fin didn’t make it back home. Noah’s father left him too leaving him broke and alone.

He tried to conceal his loneliness and dated another woman but, love wouldn’t lie. He decided to build the house he and Allie once dreamt and went on a sole journey in search of her.

When luck was finally on his side, things were complicated than before. Allie was left with confusion between her commitment to Lon and his feelings for him.

Just as the old saying goes, “No smoke can be kept at hand,” tears cascaded in her eyes the moment she learnt of the truth. No matter how Anne tried, the lovebirds found each other at the end.

But struggles didn’t left them that easily. Years later, Allie suffered from memory loss where Noah’s love and strength was again challenged.Day after day, he reads their love story to her with the hope that she will soon remember him.

You see, he could choose to give up on her and play himself safe from the pain, but he chose to embrace it because he believed that the joy that he could have in the end is priceless.

Now that you have walked on his shoes, are you still afraid to take a risk? Have you figured out which one has carries more weight?

In case you haven't seen the movie yet, I recommend you to read the book.

It contains non-violent substances, therefore is good for anyone. Plus, it will give you more understanding on being in love.

Written and published on 1996, Novelist Nicolas Sparks takes his readers into a realm where love wins no matter the circumstances which later became a world-wide hit.
