A wedding dessert table can be a delicious feature at your wedding.Just about any dessert can be featured or you can do combination desserts . It's up to you. Keep in mind the location of your dessert table. If you are having a dessert table as the main food selection, it can be set up right away. If it id to be served later on wit your cake, you may want to have the cake out and the other additions placed out after the meal as your guests are dancing the night away. The reason behind that is that some guests will start picking at it before you are ready to serve it.

It can serve as a compliment to your coffee service at the end of your reception or as the main feature of a home reception. Either way, it can be a touch that your guests will long remember and appreciate

Check With Your Vendor First

Rules Vary At Different Locations

Some vendors offer dessert options at as part of their packages or options. Some vendors will work with you, especially if they do not offer dessert tables as an option. When you are speaking to your vendor, ask if he will work with you. If you are bringing in your own wedding cake, ask if you can bring in some cupcakes with it. If you are having your wedding at a hall with a caterer, or doing your own home wedding, then you will have more options open to you. The Country club that I had my wedding at, allowed me to have a candy buffet and even bring in chocolate covered cherries. They even set it up for me. So with your dessert buffet simply tell them what you are planning and ask if they will work with you on it !

Pie Dessert Table

Is Pie Your Favorite Dessert ?

Then why not feature pie on your wedding dessert table? An assortment of pies can be a tasty idea for your wedding guests. You could even do this idea in lieu of a wedding cake. Why not have the bride and groom slice a piece of pie instead of cake? Pie and coffee or tea-it's a wonderful thing !

You can include mini tarts or tarts with this dessert buffet. Add some tags for each pie telling your guests what kind they are

You could bake the pies yourself or have members of your family help you. This would be a very personal touch. Don't attempt this by yourself unless you have experience making pies. You clould also buy pies from the bakery at your local supermarket.

Theme your pies to your wedding. For example if you are having a fall wedding, you might want to have apple and pumpkin pies. Spring weddings might include strawberry and blueberry pies. Summer themed wedding might include lemon and other light pies.

No matter what pies you decide on, your guests will appreciate the option of an extra dessert.
