- Online Dating
I started doing online when I was 12 years old. I started on a site called myyearbook that is now called meetme. I got told by a friend to go on it and I made my profile but to start you had to be at least 16 so I faked my age. I liked getting the attention from men a lot at that age. But I didn't relize it was going to affect me later.
Where it got me
I ended at the age of 18 going on a site called "Plenty of Fish" I was only looking for asian guys and I found a guy named Tony that said he was 22. To find out now he wasn't 22 he was 28 and He looked pretty young. He was so controlling that I lived with him for six months. Well him being controlling he left me places at 2 am in the morning to date other girls. We got into a argument and he punched me in the face and told me I deserved it. He broke my phone and changed my password to my facebook. He wanted me to kill myself. This is why you don't do online dating... anything can happend that you didn't hope for.
Why online dating isn't safe
We have young girls and boys who are brought up in a generation that the only way to talk to people is through social media. They start talking to these people online who would hurt them but they don't know because they think they are they are the same age and it's a real image.
