DIY Wedding Favor Ideas

Simple DIY Wedding Favor Ideas

Saving money with DIY wedding favor ideas is a smart way to cut down on your wedding expenses. It's also a great way to make your wedding more "you".

The options for DIY wedding favors are limitless. In fact, it seems like every wedding I go to or read about has made their own little creation. From homemade wines, to cookies and pretty much everything in between.

The trick - make something "you". Gone are the days of silly knick knacks so make something people will use or eat. And then...make it look like a million bucks!

DIY Cookie Wedding Favors

Who doesn't love a good cookie! That's what makes them (or any baked cookes?!) such GREAT wedding favors. Trying to decide on a flavor?

Here are a list of some great ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

- Homemade-looking macaroons

- Cookies in the shape of a bride and groom

- Ginger break cookies for Holiday-season weddings

- A stack of owey goey chocolate chip cookies

- White Chocolate Macadamia Nut

DIY Bath Salt Wedding Favors

I love bath salts for wedding favors - so much so that I handed out bath salts at my own wedding!

Don't just give people plain old salt in a jar - have fun with them though.

Mix them up with essential oils, rose petals or dried lavender.

Some great essential oils include clary sage, rose, sandalwood and ylang ylang. All of these are "romantic" oils.

Homemade Bulbs or Potted Plants (and Seedlings)

To be fair you're not actually growing a bulb or creating a plant. BUT, you can grow a plant OR the DIY part of this project can be in the packaging and/or potting of the plant.

Depending on season, here are a few great ideas

- Any herb... but basil is probably the most popular

- Small coniferous trees

- Tulip bubls

- Stephanotis

- Nasturtiums

- Petunias

DIY Tea Wedding Favors

This is another DIY wedding favor that's really simple because you're not making it completely from scratch. All you're doing with this is picking out a GREAT (high quality) tea, coming up with a fun little name for the hangtag or label...and voila. You're done!

If you can think of a tea flavor that fits with you're theme - great! If not, just go with something unique or wildly popular. Here are a few ideas:

Rooibus

Earl Grey

Green Tea

Jasmin Tea

Package your tea in tins or in single tea bags with a personalized hangtag.

Making Your DIY Wedding Favors Look Like A Million Bucks

When choosing your favors just pick colors and designs that work with your theme. It'll help pull things together and will make something simple look totally stunning!

If you're making cookies place them clear cello bags with a nice ribbon and a nicely printed hangtag!

Making homemade wine? Get custom wine labels.

A simple label is probably cheaper than a hangtag, just because hangtags require ribon as well. But, it's not like ribbon has to be expensive. It can be...but it doesn't have to be.

Where To Get Wedding Favor Packaging

I'm all about being simple and saving money. If you're the same way you'll be happy to know that you can get top notch presentation for your favors without spending a lot of money.

Alot of people think that in order to get high quality and stylish labels, hangtags, boxes or jars needs to be expensive because you'd have to buy in bulk.

That is absolutely not the case!

The wedding industry is so huge that there are companies dedicated to putting together small print runs just for us! And, they'll separate massive shipments of jars, bottoms, and boxes and sell them in smaller quantities to discerning brides.

There are two companies that I absolutely love Beau-Coup and My Own Labels. Both of these companies are reputable, have great quality favors that are stylish, AND they sell them for fair prices.
