It all started on a lovely dinner organized by Dr. Ramon Artemio Bracho for his friends on 20th July 1958 in Puerto Pinasco, Paraguay.
The reason he proposed to have an official friendship day to all the united nations was to promote friendship and it's principles to all the people of the world. The reason was to bring people of all the countries closer as friends and strengthen their friendship bond irrespective of their caste, religion, or color.
To see that the idea of friendship day is promoted over the world, The World Friendship Crusade was founded by Dr. Ramon Artemio Bracho. On 27th July 2011, The organization was successful in convincing the 65th United Nations General Assembly to declares 30th July as an "International Friendship Day".
