Do you regret some acts or deeds of your past?

As we grow up, we sometimes regret about our earlier acts. You just wish, you should  not have done this or said that. You feel bad, but you can not do anything. What to do then?

Try to learn from your mistakes, forgive yourself and move past it. There is nothing to be gained by wallowing in regret.

That's a tough question.  Regret is a word that makes me think of someone dwelling on past deeds for days and years on end.  I like to use the word unfortunate more than regret:  "It's unfortunate I did that stupid thing; I've learned my lesson."

I don't regret anything in my life, as it's gotten me to where I am now.  Some things and actions have been unfortunate, and I can only hope that I've learned from them.  Either way, I've moved on.

      Hi!
Agreed, we learn from our mistakes. And if some of our earlier acts may have happened due to immaturity, ignorance or circumstances, we do deserve to be forgiven.
      Thanks for the comment.

Indeed. I made some grotesque mistakes when I was much younger. I changed my evil ways, learned from them, asked God to forgive me, and changed my course.

      Hi CJ Sledgehammer!
Anyone who admits his/her mistakes deserves a salute. To err is human, to forgive is divine. Mistakes are sometimes the best teacher.
      Thanks for the comment.

    Yes.

However, this tool doesn't allow me to reply succinctly, so I must add this superfluous sentence in order to complete the post.

      Thanks dmhenderson for the comment!
You are right, we need to talk at length about this. My idea is to write about my feelings in a diary, very honestly. Or talk to my close ones. Ultimately, we have to move on.

Regretting for our past mistakes and correcting the same is a great thing and we want to study from it a lot to avoid such mistakes in future.
