Funny Bridal Shower Gifts: Guaranteed Smile Starters
Novelties and Gag Gifts for the Bride to Be
There's no better way to break the ice and promote a little fun at a bridal shower than with a funny gift.
Of course, everyone has their own ideas about what's humorous but if you know the bride-to-be well enough and you keep it lighthearted and not vulgar, the moment she opens your present could turn out to be the highlight of the party.
For instance, when a friend of mine who happens to be an extremely straight-laced office manager type was getting married, we bought her the gawdiest, bawdiest negligee we could find. We're talking a tiny totally-trashy black peekaboo lace teddy adorned with red and black boa feathers in all the right (or should that be wrong?) places that left absolutely nothing to the imagination. I wrapped it in innocent white paper with a gorgeous bow.
The look on her face when she opened it was priceless and I remained completely serious so she couldn't tell if I was for real or not until I asked her to show everyone, at which point I lost it and we all got hysterical laughing.
Just thinking about it now makes me want to laugh all over again. If you knew her, you'd know why and that's my point. You know your friend best so you already know what will make her laugh, or gasp or maybe even turn a bit red in the face.
In any event, it's all in fun and if you choose right, your Funny Bridal Shower Gifts will probably still be on their lips at the wedding.
I've collected a few ideas here to help you get your imagination going. Enjoy!

Here's a few things that might inspire some giggles.
Here's a selection of sure-fire giggle starters.
His and hers piggy banks may not be hysterically funny but when they are this cute, they're sure to create a bit of fun and laughs amongst the guests.
Of course in this case, her's is bigger.
Funny books are another way to go. The following will inspire some fun. I'm not sure her future mother-in-law would approve though.
Every bride-to-be needs a training manual. Don't they?
This cookbook is a hot seller and when you read the title you'll know why it's so popular.
A cookbook that promotes good eating.
And this adorable, portable, Do Not Disturb sign (as featured above) is another hugely popular item.
They can take this one with them anywhere.
If she's been a bit... let's say nervous, yeah nervous is a nice way to put it, lately, one of these shirts might be just what the doctor ordered at her shower. Anyone ho's been close to her should get a big kick out of this.
Each design is available on several different styles and shirt colors and in sizes to fit every Bridezilla you know.

Not just for the cake... - funny cake toppers make great decorations too!
They can make an amusing addition to the shower or wedding reception décor.
These are actually cake toppers for the reluctant bride or groom but they are sure to bring a huge laugh when presented at the wedding shower.
You can wrap one up and present it to the bride, or the couple, or use it on top of the cake at the shower. Either way, these are guaranteed to be funny.
There's lots of different ones to choose from. This one is my personal favorite.
Oh no you don't!
And yeah, it works for the wedding cake too!
Isn't it cute the way this figurine takes on a whole new meaning when you use it on a topsy turvy cake like this?
Still funny, but in a much nicer way.
And if she's as straight-laced as my friend...
A nightie will probably make her blush.
And probably get a big round of applause from the guests.
These are just plain cute!
If they're headed for a tropical honeymoon location, or if they're getting married in the summer, someone needs to buy these for her.
No big laughs here but I think these will inspire a few smiles in the very least.
