Gifts for Partners and Parents

Updated on September 24, 2014

Presents With Love

Gifts are an expression of love and caring. They go to the heart of the recipient as something special that you have taken the time and effort to select especially for them. That's why a good selection is essential to choose from and some research into their hobbies, likes and dislikes will make your selection even greater.

Buying for someone else is often the hardest decision one makes in gift giving. Many parents and partners are older and have most of the stuff they need so it's a case of finding something different and possibly unique. Grandparents are particularly hard to suit but some of the ideas on this lens may just be a solution. It covers gifts for all occasions including birthdays, Valentine's Day, festivals, special occasions and Christmas.

What's Behind This Lens?

Practical or Stupid Gifts for people

The idea behind this lens is to create a site with practical gifts to express your love and to cover almost every occasion and personality type.

Enjoy!

There is hardly a food item that this Co does not deliver. From oils, preserves,. meat, chocolates, fruits, jams, chutneys, to kitchen accessories and gifts of all descriptions for the gourmet person in your life. You need to see the selection and prices to believe it.

What Present Would you Prefer?

Would you give someone a packet of cloth diapers for Christmas or something else?

The Dilemma of What to Give a Parent?

Playing Games In and Around the Home

Or just plain work

Parents are always into games of some description and kids love it when the family gets involved around a table after dinner or during the holidays. Many a fun hour was spent with my parents and then with my children enjoying board games and things when young. Outdoor games are another great way to bond and picnics and the old cricket bat always went together when the family gathered on special occasions.

The following games will make or break you.

Cleaning House Gifts - Is this a good idea?

Would you give your parents a cleaning gift?

Merry Christmas

A calendar above my computer is used every day. The scenes help ponder something to write or when waiting for the phone to be answered. It's an assets to a study, office or home. The latest Internet technology with the largest calendar inventory created this great online calendar store

What Present is Better for a Parent?

Would you give them active get-fit videos or cosmetics?

Books, Flowers or a Gown?

Know the Recipient's Taste

Books are rather personal but always appreciated. If you know the person well and can decide on what they might like then you can't go wrong if you select a special work for them. Graphics are always appreciated and for a gardener they will get lots of fun looking at the wonderful pictures while a fashion conscious person will drool over a good book. Pictures always get people in and makes reading a lot easier.

Flowers are always a great choice when it comes to a special gift but not everyone will appreciate them. Men in particular may just have a different preference but ladies are always keen on receiving them. What type of flowers depends on whether or not the recipient is a gardener or not. If she has a yard full of blooming roses then think about orchids or some other rarer blooms. Posies and special arrangements will always go down well.

Gowns are a little too tricky for the average person to select. But gift cards for shops that sell them will certainly hit the spot. If you know the person well you might like to take them shopping and buy them the gown of their choice. That is probably the best way to go.

What's Your Choice?

Would you give books, flowers or a formal gown to your parent?

Tis the Season

Practical or Useless

What do your prefer?

Parents & grandparents love photos on walls. This Company changes your prized picture into amazing canvas art that will bring it to life and allow it to be seen as it hangs beautifully in your domain.

With two rendering options to choose from, select PhotoRealistic, brings your photo into full life. It becomes more vivid than the original, or BrushStroke, which appears to have been produced by delicate strokes of an artist's brush.

Would you give someone Christmas Decorations? - Or is this totally impractical?

My favorite gift for an older person is to write them. I think older people like letters and cards a lot.
