Great Wedding Songs

Updated on August 24, 2017

Going to The Chapel

Time has sure flown by. It seems like just yesterday my fiance was proposing in the same booth of the restaurant where we had our first date. At that time I had a whole year of wedding planning ahead of me. Now our wedding date of 12/13/14 is only 4 months and a few weeks away. I'll admit I'm stressing a little bit but the one thing I'm most excited about with planning is choosing the music! My fiance and I both have a wide variety of taste so we have a ton of songs picked out. I'm making this lens in hopes of some additional advice, like how many songs should we choose to fill about 4 hours of reception? What would be a good song to walk down the aisle to? I was thinking of maybe an instrumental of Blackbird by the Beatles.

Our Choices So Far

I Do- Paul Brandt (our first dance song) :)

Love Remains-Collin Raye (our dance with our parents)

The World-Brad Paisley

The Way I Am-Ingrid Michaelson

Dearest-Buddy Holly

I Want to Hold Your Hand-The Beatles

You Might Think-The Cars

Ho Hey- The Lumineers

I think I'm in Love-Eddie Money

Something Bout a Truck- Kip Moore

Let the Good Times Roll- The Cars

Love Me-Elvis

Burning Love-Elvis

A Little Less Conversation-Elvis

Can't Help Falling In love-Elvis

Tripping down The Freeway-Weezer

Blister in the Sun-The Violent Femmes

When I Go- Slow Club

The Christmas Song- The Reveonettes

Summer of 69- Bryan Adams

Save the Last Dance- The Drifters

Dancing in the Dark-Bruce Springsteen

Wouldn't it be Nice- The Beach Boys

I Guess that's Why They Call it the Blues-Elton John

Your Song-Elton John

I wanna Grow Old with You-Adam Sandler

River Bank-Brad Paisley

Please Come Home for Christmas-The Eagles

Dance Montage

Ever since we saw the Robbie and Amy wedding episode of Everybody Loves Raymond we've been in love with the idea of doing a dance montage. I think it would be so fun and something our guest would be talking about for years to come. We would do maybe 15 seconds of assorted songs.

Something we're stumped on is what song to play when we first walk into the reception and the DJ introduces us as husband and wife for the first time. A cousin already used Welcome To the Jungle, which we thought was hilarious. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We want something fun to get the party started as opposed to something slow and sappy.

What would be a good introduction song for when we first enter the reception?

I guess it depend on whether or not you have a theme. A December wedding takes gutts :) My niece was married about the same time. I have no doubt it will be lovely. So happy for you. Hey, I found this on Pinterest!
