How to make a DVD from your precious wedding photos?

Updated on August 25, 2009

So you have come back from a long vacation with hundreds of pics in digital format or your family celebrations like a family reunion or wedding is over and you have loads of pics of your loved ones and relatives and you don't know how to organize them.

Yes, no one wants to lose these precious moments, especially things with which we are emotionally attached.

Do no worry. I have some simple steps to convert all your precious moments in one place.

Follow the steps below and you will be able to see all your photos in a DVD on your TV using your DVD player.

Step #1: Buy a rewriteable DVD.

Step #2: Make a folder on your PCs desktop and download your precious wedding pics from your digital camera.

Step #3: Now have a look through the pictures and keep what you want and delete those you do not want, but do not try to change to more or less dark or light, cutouts, etc.

Step #4: Please make sure you have some music files in your music folder that you love and then insert the new DVD. For example I am in my (picture wedding) Movie Balle Balle Amritsar to LA (Bride & Prejudice), I included the song "No Life Without Wife".

Step #5: Now edit photos, as you are ready to create your DVD using Apple iDVD mac.

Step #6: Open up Apple iDVD program, choose from the menu 'Magic iDVD, title the DVD on top left such as "My family Celebrations" to make it more easy for you.

Step #7: Choose a favorite theme for your DVD with the mouse.

Step #8: On the top right of the program, select "images". Once you find the folder with all the photos imported, drag them towards the lower left. An icon will appear with the first photo and the number of slides.

Step #9: Now go to top right and choose "audio", from there you can select the song you like and drag it over to the photo. Of course, the songs have to be uploaded to itunes or you would not find them.

Step #10: Now click the bottom right corner from the menu and click on "Create Project". - On the bottom right triangle, there will be an arrow, click to see if it is okay.

Step #11: At the top right, click on exit to change it. If you want to burn it, then click on ARCHIVE above and then click the button, "Burn DVD". Now insert the blank DVD and follow the step-by-step instructions.

Step #12: Now your precious DVD is ready to be viewed on your DVD player and TV.

Show this DVD to your friends and relatives and enjoy.

I am in the process of scanning and storing all my pictures right from my first picture. I have to photoshop many to make them sharp as these are so old.

I'll use your advice on this blog to make a dvd. May be I'll distribute the dvd among my friends titled 'My Life in Pictures'.

      Thanks for the excellent idea.

Duchess OBlunt, there will be no problem........ Believe me, everything will go well. The techno world is not away from you. Just give it a go and everything is yours.

Thank you for the step by step instructions. I am so useless with the techy stuff, but have lots of pictures I'd love to preserve. I'll give these instructions a go and hope for the best.

Keep your fingers crossed for me . . . if something can go wrong, it usually will with me and the techno world.

      Off to try

Great idea! By the way I absolutely love Bride and Predjudice! The song "No Life, Without Wife", is one of my favorite in the movie. I actually watched it the other day. Love the hub and the suggestions. Look forward to more.
