make a great first impression

Updated on May 10, 2011

Look me in the eyes and smile

Sometimes you only get one chance, don't blow it

You know what in today's fast paced lifestyle I think it is a invaluable tool to be able to make a great first impression.

It could be a date. a job interview or a once in a lifetime opportunity,

These are some tips that I know are proven and will help you make a good first impression.

When you are meeting a person for the first time look them straight in the eyes and smile, not a nervous smile but a sexy, confident smile.

Don't try to be something you aren't, just relax and be yourself, there are several reasons why you should be yourself I will use a job interview as an example, lets say you go in acting all excited and talking but that isn't really your real personality, you may get the job right then but you will not keep it because your real personality will come out sooner or later and they will see that you lied and fire you.

People don't like to be lied to , so don't do it

Also if you have to shake hands  make sure you don't grip too hard or hold hands for too long, have you ever shaken hands with someone and they wouldn't let go of your hand? If so then you know exactly what I mean it makes the other person feel very awkward, also if you crush someone's hand they might get mad and that is a chance that you cannot afford to take, please remember that sometimes you only get one chance and you don't want to mess it up.

Be on time, if it is an appointment and you are meeting someone for the first time, make sure that you are prompt and on time, if you are late that can make a bad impression.

Another thing I think that can help you make a great first impression is when the other party is speaking make sure you pay attention and do not interrupt them, be a good listener.

I know that this hub may be silly to some people but trust me a first impression is worth a little thought and I hope that this helps.
