Romantic Ideas for All Year Round!
Keeping Romance Alive and Well!
Love should not be restricted to Valentine's Day and anniversaries. Sure, these days are special but love doesn't stop the rest of the year, does it?
What I have done in this lens is to pull all my lenses together that would only be around normally at Valentine's Day. After all ideas for keeping romance alive shouldn't be confined to one or two days in the year.
Along with some fresh ideas I've also included some other lenses from Squidoo lens masters and interspersed the page with some love quotes.
The ideas here are evergreen...now go hug someone special!
Your family and your love must be cultivated like a garden. Time, effort and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep it flourishing and growing.
~ Jim Rohn

Love only grows by sharing. You can have more for yourself by giving it away to others.
Take Time to Talk
So often relationships break down because there's no talk. Marriage is a partnership and a friendship.
Share your thoughts and dreams with each other. Put away the cell phone and share your time...
This is YOUR time so make it special. When you are comfortable talking and sharing your thoughts and dreams for the future you will also find you are also comfortable with silence.
Sadly I was reading an article in the newspaper today that couples have taken to watching TV in separate rooms because they favor different programs! Put away that remote!
It was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.
~ Judy Garland.

When You are Apart
Sometimes life means we cannot be together for one reason or another but there are ways to feel close.
My own experience of being apart was when my husband, as a policeman in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), was away in the "bush" (as we called it) - dodging land-mines! He wasn't my husband then but had already asked me to marry him. We didn't have mobile phones or even a landline phone to talk to one another. When he was able to call I asked if he had something to ask me...and this time I said yes. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, they say. This year we will be celebrating our 37 th wedding anniversary!
Another occasion was after we came to New Zealand he took a group of prisoners to build a walking track - the Hollyford Track in Fiordland, in the southwestern South Island. He was a prison officer...again no mobiles! No fancy pillow cases for us either...
Made of quality soft cotton and polyester blend these pillowcases have received a great feedback response.
If you have a long distance romance or your significant other has to work away from home this is a way to stay connected. A bit of pillow talk long distance! Each have a pillowcase with you as you talk on the phone...
If music be the food of love, play on.
Dinner for Two
A romantic dinner for two is just the ticket to get a bit of romance in your life. Make sure the kids are away and make the most of your time together. Get to know one another again if you have lost touch in this busy world.
Light the candles and lower the lights...put on your favorite music. Immerse yourself in each other's company.
Don't spend time in the kitchen...make sure you prepare meals that need little attention and can be prepared ahead.
All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.
~ Charles M. Schulz
As a chocolate lover Lindt is one of my favourites...and I’m a fan of dark chocolate so these fit the bill nicely. The box contains 120 smooth-melting 60% Dark Chocolate Lindor Truffles – just the right darkness to not be too bitter. A melt in the mouth bit of heaven at a reasonable price!
Do you keep romance alive throughout the year?
Say it With Flowers
What can flowers say? Here are a few ideas:
- I love you
- Will you marry me?
- Thinking of you
- Thank you
- Happy birthday
- Good luck
- Happy anniversary
- Happy Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, retirement,...and more
You can pick flowers from the garden, the meadow, the neighbors....but sometimes you need something a little special, especially if it's long distance!
I love orchids for their beauty and longevity. This arrangement seems to have all of that and more...
I've not personally bought these flowers but with 79 reviews of 4 and 5 star (74) out of a total of 84 reviews I knew this must be a winner!
Comments were that the flowers were fresh and they were delivered on time.
And long lasting - two months in the case of someone in the UK who was sent these flowers from LA! I would normally expect to get up two weeks or more out of orchids but two months...wow. In fact there are two reviewers who say they lasted two months.
Each orchid is shipped in their own packaging and it obviously works!
Some reviewers have ordered this arrangement several times and never been disappointed so that says a lot.
They've been ordered for a range of reasons from Mother's Day to birthdays and more. It's up to you...
