Wedding Table Setting Ideas
Ideas For Your Wedding Reception
I loved setting up the wedding tables for my sister's wedding. It was fun seeing everything come together, after weeks spent planning and purchasing.
Doing the settings ourselves saved a lot of money, too. For each place setting, we purchased melamine plates, lace placemats, paper napkins, and glasses; we used silverware we already had on hand, and rented tables and tablecloths. Each setting ended up costing about $4 altogether.

Colorful Melamine Plates - Great For Your Wedding
We used melamine plates for my sister's wedding. I loved how the bright, warm colors complemented the otherwise blue color scheme. Melamine plates are light and sturdy enough to move easily (especially when stacked!) but heavy enough to hold down lace placemats when the wind picks up.
If you're trying to save money, keep an eye out at local big-box and dollar stores. You can often find great deals, especially around the turn of the season.
The colors of this plate are similar to the ones we used.

This set of four plates is elegant and a good value. It also contains bamboo!
A Close-Up of the Wedding Table - Easy and Beautiful
To create rolled silverware like this, first lay a square napkin diagonally on your surface. Place a fork and knife on one corner, and then roll. Cut a length of one or more ribbons long enough to tie around the bundle. Wrap and tie a bow. Now repeat!
Here's What You'll Need - Just a Few Things
I suggest using paper napkins instead of cloth if you're doing it yourself, unless you really want to have a large number of cloth napkins lying around after the wedding. Also, don't cheap out on silverware, because; the cheap stuff is often uncomfortable to use. To save money, borrow items from friends, or buy forks and knives in bulk instead of whole silverware sets.

Plates: Buy, Borrow, or Rent?
It's a good question. If you're trying to keep costs way down, you might want to borrow extra plates from neighbors. If it fits with your theme, paper or plastic plates can be a good choice. Buying some nice plates like these can help you create a certain look, but you'll end up with a lot of plates on your hands! Then again, depending on local rates, it could still be cheaper than renting.
These inexpensive plates are a nice size, and sturdy. They'll look great on a colorful placemat; alternately, you can create a monochromatic look with all white.

The Sparkle of Wine Glasses - Add to Any Table Setting
It's not hard to find inexpensive wine glasses, either online or locally. For example, these wine glasses work out to less than $2 each. Even if you're not serving wine, they are elegant to drink out of. And it's always good to have extras, especially if you tend to break them like I do!
