Wedding Welcome Bags

Wedding Welcome Bags - Make Your Guests Feel At Home!
If you're planning a wedding, it is very important to make your guests feel at home, especially those who have traveled from out of town to share your special day. Wedding welcome bags are a new trend that shows your gratitude and appreciation for your loved ones. Left at the hotel to greet your guests, wedding welcome bags are the perfect way to say "thanks!"
What is a wedding welcome bag?

A wedding welcome bag is a custom that has become more prevalent in the last decade, as both the popularity of destination weddings and well as the modern reality that more and more people are spread further apart from their families results in more guests traveling to the wedding location. While traditionally weddings were close - and local - family and friends, today some of the most important people in the couple's life may be traveling from across the state, country, or globe, with little local knowledge. The bride and groom may find themselves too busy with the last minute wedding details to play host to out of town guests, and so the wedding welcome bag helps to show the guests the couple's appreciation for their travel, as well as provide them with crucial information about the local area, schedule of activities, and more. When guests check in at their hotel, many couples choose to have a wedding welcome bag waiting at the front desk for them.
The Best Wedding Welcome Bag - Personalizable wedding welcome bag!

This is my favorite bag to use for a wedding welcome bag. It's long lasting and roomy, with plenty of space for everything you want to include. Plus, it will last for a long time, and your guests can reuse it for grocery shopping, the beach, or anything they desire. The bag is canvas, white with black handles and details. Screen printed words (Joy, Love, Forever, Laughter, Bliss, Smile and Hope) are on one side.
What should you include in your wedding welcome bags?

You can include as much or as little as you wish in your wedding welcome bags. I think the most important item, especially for travelers, is a bottle or two of water. Here are some common items people include in their wedding welcome bags:
bottled water
granola bar
gum, candy and mints
itinerary and schedule for wedding events
map of the local area
important phone numbers, i.e. hotel, taxi company
The Most Important Item To Include In Your Wedding Welcome Bags - Water!

Your guests are sure to be tired or dehydrated after traveling, or after the celebration, so be sure to include a bottle of water in their wedding welcome bags. This is especially important for warm climate weddings, or guests who are elderly or very young.

Wedding Welcome Bag Note
How to word and what to say in your wedding welcome bag note?
Your wedding welcome bag should include a note to your guests. Usually this note comes from the couple, although if parents are hosting it may come from them instead. Here are some suggestions for what to say in your wedding welcome bag note:
Dear Friends and Family,
Welcome to Chicago, IL! We are so happy you could join us for our wedding. We hope your travels were great, and we're thrilled and honored to have you hear to share in our special occasion. We hope you enjoy the goodies in this bag!
Our wedding ceremony will take place at 4pm on Saturday at St. John's Church. If you are driving, please allow 20 minutes for travel time. A shuttle will leave the hotel at 3:15pm for guests who are not driving themselves. The reception will be downstairs in the Grand Ballroom, will cocktails beginning at 6:00pm. There will be a breakfast on Sunday morning in the Red Room downstairs to send you off on your way home!

Nice bags for brides
it's look very pretty..........
Very neat idea. I am getting married this year (in July - "Lucky In Love"), and at our ceremony, we are going to hand out (or have a basket of them ;) paper bags with birdseed in them. Rice will hurt, and possibly kill birds who eat them (their stomachs will explode) so we will have wild birdseed for the guests to "shower us" with fruitfulness and luck etc.
I love it when they have welcome bags at parties. They usually are so personal and creative.
Interesting lens. I have never heard of Wedding Welcome Bags, but I guess you learn new things every day :)

I've given wedding bags and baskets to the wedding couple, relatives or friends that have come a long distance, but not to guests. It is something to consider in the future, and would be welcome if the ceremony is delayed for some reason.
