Things God Don't Know: No. 3
God Doesn’t Know A Sinner He Cannot Save
God will never turn away from a truly repentant sinner. If you study the Book of Romans you will find quite a bit about sin and its consequences: “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, the wages of sin is death, etc.” But you will also find a way to salvation: 1:16”…because it is God’s power for salvation to EVERYONE (all sinners) who believes….” The key word in this verse – EVERYONE. Romans 2:6-10 talks about God repaying each one according to his works, but V11 goes on to say “there is no favoritism with God.” 6:23 tells you the consequences of sin, but also gives you an escape: “but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ.” Romans 10 shows the way – “Confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. For EVERYONE who calls on the name of the Lord WILL be saved.” If there is no favoritism with God, then there is NO ONE God isn’t willing to save, whether it’s the unbelieving neighbor across the way, the drug addict living on the street, or the murderer on death row. They just have to be willing to accept God’s gift of salvation.
