Top ten what now?

A provocative movement of Christian truthers and paranormal researchers is taking over the Internet and growing in momentum, known as the fringe Christian community. Here is a quick introduction to ten of the best bible believing teachers, researchers and presenters of the esoteric.

Chuck Missler

1. Chuck Missler

Any list of this sort would be incomplete without mention of the forefather of this weird and wonderful genre of Christian interest, Charles (Chuck) Missler of Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa. Mr Missler is an Evangelical Christian teacher who has appeared on GOD TV, an author and prominent speaker on Bible prophecy. Chuck and his wife Nancy are the founders of Koinonia House, a publishing ministry committed to encouraging believers to study the Bible and grow in their understanding of the Word of God.

He has come under increasing criticism, being accused of veering further from mainstream Christian teaching and dabbling in mysticism with his interest in Bible codes and promoting the reading of extra-biblical texts like the book of Enoch. Although he himself has a teaching series warning against interest in kabbalah, some of his writings and sermons about hidden messages of the bible do raise an eyebrow and should be taken in with discernment and testing of the spirits. I think we should forgive the old man for embracing the odd heresy or two, considering the wealth of information and study he has contributed to the evangelical community in his many years as a teacher of the faith. This well respected fringe Christian pioneer has provided ample material to sink your teeth into; feel free to spit out the pits.

Topics include:

  • Eschatology

  • Nephilim

  • Ufology

  • Bible Prophecy

2. L A Marzulli

If hearing the terms, “truther” or “fringe Christian” or “conspiracist” conjures up images in your mind of an eccentric, middle aged, white man with a dated hairstyle, who is slightly paranoid, frank talking and maybe a little uncomfortably passionate about his esoteric views, then you were probably thinking of L A Marzulli.

Author, researcher and film maker L A Marzulli doesn’t do much to help improve the stereotype of the fringe Christian, but he does present intriguing research on subjects such as the Nephilim, the Watchers and UFOs. He is quirky indeed, but endearingly so. His Nephilim trilogy series was a best seller and bagged him an honorary doctorate from Pacific International University. His film series The Watchers won UFO Best Film at the Peoples Choice Awards, UFO Congress in 2014.

Topics include:

  • Giants

  • UFOs

  • Watchers/angels

3. Steve Quayle

Steve Quayle is a radio show host, photographer and author with a special interest and expertise in survivalist topics. He is passionate about preparedness and spreading awareness of threats of bioterrorism and, in case you thought it couldn’t get any weirder, he even has something to say about the zombie apocalypse.

Steve has a great face for radio and frequently spreads his doomsday hysteria on the Hagmann and Hagmann show. He has authored books about giants, ancient civilizations and even written about the possible existence of elves and dwarves and fairies, but he is primarily devoted to inspiring people to prepare for supernaturally orchestrated coming catastrophes of biblical proportions.

Topics include:

  • Giants

  • Dwarves

  • Stargates

  • Survivalism / preparedness

4. Rob Skiba

Researcher, author, speaker, host, actor and director Rob Skiba has an interest in prophecy, conspiracy and the supernatural. Rob is a Hollywood Film Institute graduate and his passion for good entertainment shines through his work. He is currently working on producing the TV series SEED which is influenced by Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek and X-Files.

In addition to writing books like Babylon Rising and the Archon Invasion, Rob hosts an Internet radio show called Revolutionary radio, on Truth Frequency Radio, where he interviews peers and engages in compelling conversations about fringe Christian topics.

Rob is an ancient Nephilim theorist and has some quality presentations on Nephilim, Mytholody and the great coming deception available on the web. However, any dwindling readership he hasn't managed to frighten off with his Yahuwah triangle theories might be tempted to reconsider their fidelity by the time he breaks into talks about Flat Earth and globe conspiracies.

Topics include:

  • Nephilim

  • Nimrod

  • Hebrew roots

  • Roswell, aliens

  • Flat Earth

Tom Horn - Mark of the Beast Bio Technology 1 of 2

5. Tom Horn

Distinct from the murderous cowboy who died in 1903, Dr. Thomas R. Horn is a television and radio personality, author and publisher and also the Chief Executive Officer of SkyWatchTV. He is set apart from many other fringe Christian researchers by his presentability and skill at appearing almost normal in televised interviews. While the rest of them may be great at research and writing books, Tom is all of that plus he knows how to make good TV.

As any good businessman would do, Tom partners with other great researchers and writers like Cris Putnam, Sharon Gilbert and Donna Howell who compose much of the meat of the books while Tom hones his efforts towards hyping up the releases publicly.

Topics include:

  • Aliens/Ufology

  • The Vatican

  • Freemasonry/ The Illuminati

  • Prophecy of the popes

  • CERN

  • Portals/stargates

6. Cris Putnam

The Christopher-Reeves-Superman of the fringe Christian community, Cris Putnam began as a Christian apologetics teacher until Tom Horn tracked him down and dragged him into the field of researching and writing about the paranormal from a biblical world view. It is obvious why Mr Horn wanted him on his team; Cris is an astounding researcher, popularized by his prediction of the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, which he foresaw after digging out obscure prophecies and calculating their current relevance.

He is a registered Parapsychological Field Investigator and presents biblically sound theories regarding the paranormal in his book , The Supernatural Worldview: Examining Paranormal, Psi, and the Apocalyptic. With a foundation in apologetics and Masters degree in Theological Studies, Cris is dedicated to intellectual honesty and solid bible hermeneutics. You can be confident that his books and lectures will be well presented, thoroughly researched and not overly influenced by the excited, little sci-fi fanboy who lives deep down in all of us. If L A Marzulli is the live wire, Cris Putnam is the ground.

Topics include:

  • Paranormal

  • Angelic beings / immortals

  • Ufology

  • Ghosts

  • Astrobiology and Exo-Planets

Dr Michael Lake

7. Dr Michael Lake

Founder of Biblical Life College and Seminary, Dr Michael Lake has adopted the mission of delivering a kingdom intelligence briefing to God’s remnant, in what he believes are the end times we are living in. His book, The Shinar Directive makes a case for a conspiratorial view of history from a biblical perspective, with Nimrod/Satan/Anti-christ and his Babylonian kingdom playing the role of bad guy; the antithesis of Jesus Messiah and His Heavenly kingdom.

The seductive Hebrew Roots movement seems to have caught Dr Lake in its sticky web, evidenced by his book Eating God’s Way, about following the Levitical dietary restrictions and his Internet based Hebraic Church, Biblical Life Assembly.

He and his wife, Mary Lou Lake, are outspoken against the occult and witchcraft. They believe in an occultic Mind Control program regarding which Mary Lou has personal testimony overcoming.

Topics include:

  • Nimrod / Babylon

  • The occult

  • Demonology

  • Hebrew roots

  • Transhumanism

8. Josh Peck

If you’re thinking of the peppy actor from Drake and Josh, you’ve got the wrong Josh Peck in mind. This one might not look quite as polished on Nickelodeon, but he sure can write a good book. Quantum Creation and Cherubim Chariots offer brand new insights into Ufology from a Christian perspective. Clearly laid out for the lay person to feel like they are doing science with the big wigs, Josh makes an intriguing and well presented case for an extra-dimensional hypothesis as a more scientifically and biblically sound explanation for UFO sightings than the popular extraterrestrial hypothesis. He explains that extra-dimensional is synonymous with the term spiritual, and examines dimensional clues in the language of the biblical depictions of angelic beings in Ezekiel and Revelation.

He is also the host of Internet radio show The Sharpening where he interviews various guests on diverse, niche topics.

Topics include

  • Quantum physics
  • Other dimensions
  • Cherubim
  • Aliens/ufology
  • Bible prophecy

9. Sharon Gilbert

If you thought the fringe Christian community was limited to kooky, aging, white men, think again. There are plenty of woman kind who are as intrigued as any boy by the paranormal, like Natalina from Beyond Extraordinary Radio and Sharon K Gilbert who made the cut for this top ten.

Sharon Gilbert and her husband Derek are a potent pair of fringe researchers, teachers and hosts. Together they host PID radio, but Sharon can more than adequately carry her weight alone. With a background in molecular biology, Sharon blogs on a variety of topics at her own website sharonkgilbert.com and has authored several books, the most recent being the bestseller Ebola and the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse and there are plans for her to host an all female talk show in the future on SkywatchTV.

Topics include:

  • Cryptopolitics

  • Spiritual warfare

  • Conspiracy

  • Bible prophecy

10. Basil and Gonz

And now for something completely different. Basil and Gonz, hosts of Canary Cry Radio share the number 10 spot because they are somewhat of an inseparable entity. While they do have their own solo work and individual projects, some kind of magic happens when they get together to offer this entirely unique and refreshing contribution to the fringe community.

Canary Cry Radio explores all the topics you might expect to find on a fringe Christian podcast; transhumanism, conspiracy theories, Planet X and even Big Foot. What sets Basil and Gonz apart is their ability to present complex and often sober subjects in a sensitive yet upbeat and truly entertaining manner. Their podcasts episodes with elaborately mixed, often hilarious sound bytes will not only stimulate your mind and give you fresh insights, but will also most certainly make you laugh and brighten your day a little. Your fellow train passengers, when they see you smiling and giggling with your headphones in your ears, will never suspect that you are listening to conspiracy theories about an impending global lockdown.

These guys are good. They are skilled researchers and endearing radio hosts. Yet they serve as an important reminder to the fringe community that we ought never to take ourselves too seriously.

Topics include:

  • New World Order

  • Global lockdown

  • Bible prophecy

  • Transhumanism

  • Nanotechnology

  • The singularity

  • Zombies

Basil and Gonz are not only beloved for being the most entertaining fringe Christian personalities, but they also win the award for coolest pictures and graphics on their website Canary Cry Radio

I wonder now if you are still active, and if perhaps you have seen the work of Michael Hesier, of whom a lot of these people base their works on?

Niecey - Dr. Missler has taught me more about the Bible than any other teacher. KI also has other teachers that are great as well. Thank you for your article. It was good reading. Gary

Really, Something blue? I had removed the amazon links because it was saying it was overly promotional. I've never figured this thing out.

But yes, Rob Skiba has the geek factor for sure. He's not really just in it for the paranoia, he's in it for the cool factor.

Lisa, yes, the Shinar Directive is awesome!

Dr. Michael Lake has one the best books on tying all of the loose ends of end time eschatology called the "the Shinar directive" it was fantastic. Dr. Missler has been preaching and teaching since the 1980's and is one of the earliest and best of all teachers I have ever had the privilege of hearing.

I''m currently reading Exo-Vaticana by Thomas Horn and Chris Putnam, which is certainly interesting . Rob Skiba seems like someone I might be interested in, anyone that would use Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Star Trek and the X-files as fodder for a series has got my vote.

You know you can use Amazon to advertise books on your articles and if people buy a book through your advertisement you get some pennies as well, plus it make your articles look professional.

Good article, top ten list usually do pretty well.

Interesting article. I must admit that despite my interest in most paranormal subjects, the only one on your list that I have heard of is Steve Quayle. But some of the others have some interesting ideas.

Fascinating. As much reading as I have done, I've missed some of these people and will have to look into them more. Since the 'fringe christian' group is growing - great article and great timing. :)
