A Prayer For Today's World

Updated on October 13, 2014

A world at peace would be a Garden of Eden.

Would that this generation's children might be blest with peace and safety all the days of their lives.

Our dear, gracious and loving Heavenly Father,

We come before Thee in prayer at this time to petition Thee for inspiration and a clearer understanding of what we must do to fashion a lasting peace for this Earth that Thou didst bless us with.

We seek to understand how to cope with a virulent ebola virus and so many other conditions and diseases we have not yet learned how to control for the protection of Thy people.

We treasure Thy law and we seek to obey and live Thy commandments in our daily lives and in our relations with strangers as well as those in the household of faith.

We ask Thy blessings we stand in need of, and Thy guidance in all things.

We ask Thee to forgive us the failings we seek to repent of, and we implore Thee to be merciful to those who grant mercy, to forgive those who are forgiving, and to be charitable to all those who stand in need of charity, sustenance, and safety.

These things we ask in the name of Thy Holy Son, even Jesus Christ. Amen

May His love cover the Earth as does the air we all breathe, and may all His children learn to live in peace and love.

aviannovice - We still have the sparrows and the doves hanging around. The seasonal birds have had the good sense to head south, while others continue passing through. November in the Rockies finds the mountains crested with light snow, and freezing temperatures, as Winter starts to glance our way. Take care and keep safe and happy.

      This certainly sounds reasonable.

dahoglund - Right you are. There might be enough people who could start praying again, and thus make a big difference. Is morning, noon, and night too much to ask when we have been counseled to pray "continuously"?

Eiddwen - You, too. Enjoy the beautiful Welch Fall, and take some more photos for another of your great poems.

The world can use all the prayers it can get right now. Voted up and shared.

I believe in prayer, and I believe that prayers praying can make a difference. If all this Hub does is remind you to keep on praying your own prayers for good things to happen, it's worth it.
