A Prayer for Healing

Updated on May 17, 2014

This prayer is especially for people who are suffering from an illness or injury. The prayer asks God to help restore our health and to help heal us spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. We do not know what God has in mind for us. We need to surrender our will to his will, be thankful, forgiving, and loving. When we are sick, we are sometimes fearful, fearful of what the illness or disease can do to us. Fear and love do not coexist well together. Fear is not of our Lord. We need to ask for this emotion to leave us. We are to place the fear at the base of his cross and ask for his love to fill us.

Prayer for Healing

Lord, thank you for everything you have done and are doing in my life. Thank you for the graces and all of the gifts that you have bestowed upon me and my loved ones. Please bless me dear Lord and guide me to do what you would want me to do. Hold me dear to your heart. Reassure me that you will never abandon me and that you are with me every step of the way. Please provide me with the best quality medical care and medicine on my journey to restore my health.

Dear Lord please take your living water that came from your pierced side when you were on the cross and cleanse me with it from the top of my head to the base of my feet. Renew my body. Renew my spirit. Cast out anything that is not of you that is within me. Allow for your love to heal my soul, my body, mind, emotions, and cells. Fill me with your Holy Spirit.

Lord allow for your precious blood to cover me and to give me mercy. Have mercy for my sins. Please forgive me of them and help me to forgive others.

Allow me to feel your peace; a peace that the world does not readily know. Allow me to feel this peace in my heart and mind. Bless me dear Lord so that I can go forth in your name and give you much praise. Walk with me Lord. Heal me of my infirmities. Free me of my burdens, depression, anger, frustrations, broken heart, bitterness, negativities, sorrows, pains, injuries, and diseases. Make me whole again. Give me all of you. Reign within me so that I can feel your presence and hear your voice.

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. I love you. I adore you. I praise and honour your name. I thank you our Lord our God. Amen.

      Hi Pam,

      Nice sincere prayer!

I have a question so maybe you can clarify a bit more.

      When you said:

"This prayer can be changed or altered for those who practice different religions and for those who do not follow a religion."

It seems a little open ended here. Okay were are to seek a relationship with God through Jesus not religion first is what I believe, but yes, Christ is for all people, from all religions, but if someone with a completely differently religious beliefs and foundation would not be able to alter it or change it to there beliefs and it would not remain powerful, or they would take the name of Jesus out. I do understand Changing it to there particular situation but remain in the position to receive Christ's help. One faith in Jesus Christ is what saves.

Thanks for hearing me out and I'm not trying to nit pick your page, just an honest question for clarification. Thanks and God bless you!!:)
