A Son's Perspective on Money and Tithing Part 2
How does a Spirit Son View Money?
A Sons Mindset
Let me begin by laying a foundation and a prelude to this mindset. It begins with the truth that you are Spirit just like your heavenly Father and that your position in the earth is one who must represent his Father exactly. You received the image of your Father when you received Christ, because Christ is the image of God (Colossians 1:15). Your primary purpose as a son of God is to grow up into Christ thereby exhibiting Representational Rule not Church Cultured Ministry. All things pertaining to your function, is supplied to you by the order of the Kingdom of Heaven the realm of your existence in God, to your Spirit. In the realm of Spirit, money has no value but it is the substance or currency that enables the biological order of human life to be facilitated in this world. Money is only valid in the world system created by Satan. You will note that the earth and its wild animal creatures do not need money to get by every day; it has no value in their natural order of life. They live by the natural order of supply and demand, survival of the strongest for reproduction of the species which is driven by the instinct of their souls. To simply define instinct, is to say that it is the strong natural impulse or the default program that became the operating system for all the animal kingdom. This instinct is tuned into the frequency of agricultural, zoological, geological and meteorological seasons and forces of the heavens and the earth. I have shown you now three life forms, its environment and their accompanying connection. The Spirit Son whose environment is the Kingdom of His Father and the connection is the Holy Spirit which is Zoe Life. The Adamic orphan man whose environment is this worlds system and his connection to this environment is his soul which is made up of his emotional heart, will, intellect and his five senses, which is the Psuche Life. The animal life whose environment is the earth and his connection to the earth is made possible by the instinct from his body and soul, animals have no spirits, which is the Bios Life. The Sons of God function from the highest level of Life and when they come into the lower forms of Life, these lower forms are subsumed into the higher state of life and bend to its order. This is how Jesus Christ could walk on water. The laws that regulate Third Dimensional Life get swallowed and integrated into the laws of Fourth Dimensional Life and the lower laws serves & folds into the higher laws.
Now after the fall of the son of God, Adam through disobedience and deception was reduced from a Spirit being to the existence of his soul being. For the first time he had to perceive his surrounding not by the voice or breath of the Father to His Spirit, he had to read his environment by the natural five senses and interpret what his saw by his soul and work the ground with his natural human body, his actions plunged the earth to malfunction under a curse. Now a curse is not a witchcraft spell or some voodoo chant, it is the deficiency in function to the righteous design of pre-creations purpose. Genesis 3:17 says Cursed is the ground for your sake, in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life…God the Father did not curse the earth, mans inferior quality of soulish life reduced the earth to function in deficiency to the righteous design of its created purpose for Spirit beings. The Cosmocratos, Satan had begun to lay the foundation of the world system and by the time of the arrival of Jesus Christ it was well on its way of being established. However it is a decaying system because it was created in time and has a chronological beginning, therefore it will have a chronological end, due to the laws of decay, the curse is operative in it too. Jn 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abides forever.
This world system has currently strengthened its Python like constriction by adding another layer of deception, another veil if you would, through Information Technology and Virtual Reality. It has added to your human five senses the craving for High Definition virtual reality. High Definition is not natural for humans; it is digitally enhanced imaging and sounds. That means that a bowl of ripe fruit looks 1000 times more appealing and attractive than if you saw it normally. This is the only way for the enemy to make your soul stay persuaded by what its seeing, the soul needs to be hypnotised and mesmerized into deception. Therefore the obvious need for technology and the virtual world to interface with your soul. Virtual reality is so cool, it is so radical, it is not legalistic or institutional, it is social and fun, having it, sets you apart from most of the lesser “Techno Savvy” humans. Here are statistics that I think will make for an interesting conversation. According to www.internetworldstats.com . In the world’s population of 7 million, nearly 2, 267 233 745 are internet users, it has recorded a growth rate of 528.1% per annum since 2000. Nearly 1/3 of the people on this Planet are dependent on the internet everyday to buy, sell, communicate and basically live. It is this 1/3 that controls 80% of the economy of the world. The internet in itself is not evil, it is just the medium or the net by which the enemy will use to further keep man ensnared. Never in the history of his domain has Satan been able to control the entire world through one system, but the possibilities of that happening with worldwide web is within his grasp. It seems like once you have bitten into the Apple (Mac), you are Goggled eyed to soulish living. Is it any wonder that we are reminded in scripture of what separates the sons of God from mere soulish men? Isa 11:2-3 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
In context, what then is a blessing and a curse? We have redefined what a curse is and now we have to redefine what it means to be blessed. We have viewed being “Blessed” largely with having success in the world and using that influence and financial resource to forward the Gospel and having enough money to solve any problem, because money answers all things, meaning that money is the God in the world system, if you have enough of it or a generous continuous supply of it, you have no need for God the Father. When in fact if we turn to Matthew 5:3-12 and study the Sermon on the Mount, we get a totally different picture of what Jesus Christ the Son taught us about what “Blessed” truly is.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the sons of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
What precedes the Sermon of the Mount is the victory of Jesus Christ over Satans temptation of Him being the Son of God and the calling of the Disciples. Please you must note that Jesus Christ the Son, refused self-provision and self-protection which include power, authority & money from Satan’s worldly system. But He chose only to depend upon his Father for everything. For to do anything less, would disqualify Him from Sonship and exact representation which in turn would nullify the power of the Cross. These are the spiritual characteristics of one who is truly “Blessed”. This individual does not use money as a yardstick for measuring success or happiness. Paul the Apostle said, “I have learned to live in abundance and lack, therefore I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. It is however far better to live in abundance, so that you can display the lavishly giving nature of the Kingly stature you possess. In Kingdom culture, a mature son of God lives from His Father’s House taking what he needs for himself and distributing His inheritance to further the Fathers will. This inheritance has an endless supply, because it is according to His riches in Christ Jesus. The mature son will celebrate his sonship by giving money and resources to the one that serves him bread and wine, which is usually his spiritual father. We draw this truth from the example of Abraham and Melchisedek. He has given all of himself, his life to the purposes of His Heavenly Father, so giving money is just his way of celebrating his identity. He entrusts this to the Father of his soul, because the Father of the Household knows the state of each son of the Household and will distribute it as He sees fit. The Father of your Spirit has no need of it but the Father of his soul will need it. You were always meant to give to honour and celebrate a grace not an institution. The nature of Father is not to police anything otherwise it will become law, but He teaches and instructs the immature sons in the Household demonstratively and allows the Holy Spirit to guide the sons into all truth. The sons of the Household should be observing the generous ways of their spiritual father and begin to see and understand how the Father of the Household lives. The mature son is never concerned about tomorrow because He is meant to only collect enough “Manna” for the day and trust in the provision of the Father for day two, three and so on. So how does this work practically in a Spiritual Household?
Before I go into that I must also say having this understanding as my foundation for being a son of God and my building a Spiritual Household according to Kingdom Culture has made it a lot easier to lay proper foundations regarding these matters, only because I have been observing my spiritual father, and his administration of the same. It is however more complicated when you are migrating from a being a Pastor in Church culture to a Spiritual Father in Kingdom culture, but all that is required is faith and trust in your heavenly Father by just doing the right thing in spite of the losses that you may incur financially. I know what you are thinking, it is easier said than done, hence the purpose of a spiritual father, that has gone this way before and to walk with you through the heat and the trials of the Desert. There are leaders in the apostolic circles that still do not understand the purpose of a spiritual father, they still want Ministry Covering by an Apostle. You cannot Father an Institutional Church, you can only Father a Son. That man and his spiritual sons becomes part of your extended Family that makes you the Father responsible for his maturity in all things pertaining to life and Godliness. Now the implications of that is this, that his actions and the actions of his Household has a direct bearing on your Clan or Tribe, that has an effect on the entire Spiritual Nation. We see this played out in the example of Achan’s disobedience in the Book of Joshua at the loss of the battle at Ai. Innocent people die, because of one man’s disobedience. The matter of spiritual fathering gets much weightier as you begin to see the macro picture in context to the Holy Nation. To whom much is given, much is required. O that we will not be found wanting when the one whose right it is comes with the plumb-line in his hand to measure what we have built. Make no mistake we all will be weighed and measured for accuracy and all the works tested in the fire before final approval. The Apostle states this of himself, 1Corintians 3:10-15 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abides which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
In the last seven years the sons that were joined to my Household and to the House of God were prodigals that used to be rich and famous and are now in the heat of the Baptism of Fire and have basically lost everything of value to themselves and are living in the Desert. I have to provide a context for their suffering and walk with them until their minds have been renewed from that of an orphan to that of a son. While they are in the Desert of their lives, I place no pressure on them to tithe or give anything because my role to them is that I have laid down my life for them, I have a heavenly Father that will take care of my needs, they are not assets to me they are my sons. Just like how I do not place any demands on my natural children for board and lodge because they are immature, I deal with my immature spiritual sons in the same way. I have the privilege of raising four beautiful children and to watch them do the right thing over time is very rewarding. I remember teaching Cassidy about sharing and giving. She has a bunch of toys but she also has about two very special stuffed animals that she takes everywhere. So when other children used to come over and wanted her special toy, she would cry because that was her toy and the children could play with any of the other toys but not that one, so Jennifer would gently tell the other children to take another toy but not Cassidy’s favourite one. Over time as she grew up, we expected her to begin to share her special toy too and we would teach her the principal of sharing what is valuable than what is not and the rewards that go with that. Every time she willingly allowed another child to play with her special toy, we rewarded her.
We were also teaching her to share whatever she was eating with her siblings and friends. At first she could break of a piece of lets say, chocolate for Reign her brother and the size and portion did not matter, then we explained to her that to share equally is a higher order and she began to grow in that. The other day she had a friend over and she had to share something between the two of them, when she broke it, it split into two unequal pieces and she gladly said “I’ll give Gracie the bigger piece Dad”. She made me so happy because she is learning to give away more and retain less because she knows her supply is not her problem but her Fathers, and she was prepared to delay and postpone her personal gratification and need. “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. You are only able to fully appreciate that point of view when you view yourself as the Supply and not the Demand. You are the Supply because the nature of your Father whom you represent is the “All Sufficient One”. I always make every attempt to fit the bill when I take any of my spiritual family out for a meal because the table at the Restaurant is just the extension of the Table of my Household. There are times of course they want to take me out, in which case I accept because I know how to receive too. I have learned that Kingly culture by observing my spiritual father, Papa Sam. Our arrangement with the older children is that they can take anything from their cupboards and give it away to whomever they choose without making a spectacle of the act, after they have informed us of it, even if it is new and very expensive. The reason for them informing us is so that we can reward them in the future for their acts of unselfish generosity and show them the face of the Father that rewards openly the things done in secret.
I said all of that to say this, unless the sons of the Household learn generosity, they will never come to maturity of ruling the wealth of Nations. If you cannot handle earthly riches how will you handle heavenly wealth, your inheritance, which is Christ, God Himself and His people. A maturing son will choose to shake off any hook money has on his soul by giving or tithing. Giving gets rid of the curse of money on your identity. Let me then sum up the attitude of a Son of God regarding money and tithing;
The Son lives from an inheritance and not from sowing and reaping. That means his supply is not derived from his own sweat and toil, but from an abundant supply of His Father. Your pay cheque is tantamount to a portion of your inheritance, how you learn to distribute that will indicate if you can be trusted with more.
The Sons tithing and giving is a celebration of his sonship. He is not commanded to do it, he does this voluntarily and consistently from a place of love for his spiritual father and understanding that the wellbeing of the Household is effected by an abundance or lack in the his Father’s House. If he tithes or not it does not make him more or less of a son. Son is who he is, not what he gives.
The Son operates with this paradigm, that He is a Steward of Distribution of the Life of God and He will use money to bring definition to that life in the physical world.
The Son rules for the benefit of others, subject to His rule. He has learnt to endure in all things and has no problem with doing without temporarily. He may be delayed but he will not be denied.
The Son knows that he is the supply, that means where he is, there is no lack. I belong to a Spiritual Family and there are brothers in the Household of Soleyn that have come into their inheritance as mature sons and they have totally purposed in their hearts to make sure that our spiritual father lacks nothing and that He and his immediate family lives in abundance to do the will of the Father. I long for the day that I may add to that abundance of my spiritual father, as a matter of fact it pains me deeply to the point of tears that I am not in that place now, because I understand his value to me and the Body of Christ and just to express his value verbally is not enough, I want to give generously for when you love, you give.
The relationship between spiritual father and the maturing son in the Desert is rooted in Agape love for each other. There is a conscience understanding between the two of them. The father knows that the son wants to bless him but is barely making it himself, so he pardons his actions of not giving and focuses on his heart intention of wanting to give. For the Father that is enough to lay down his life for his son. Sometimes the Father will come to the rescue of the son by helping him out of critical financial situations, just so that he can face another day in the Desert of Trial and stay on the furnace and there are times when the Father must allow the son to face that critical moment and die to his soul. It is times like these that true sons stay on and mature and begin to realise that my spiritual father is not my source but my Heavenly Father is my Source.
PRINCIPLES OF A SON OF GOD IN BUSINESS
1. RESTORATION OF IDENTITY - Identity must change from that of an Orphan to that of a Son.
2. KINGDOM SON CULTURE - "I have been sent by my Father to show you the Father" so am not concerned for my provision and protection, because He who sends me takes care of all my personal needs.
3. EXACT REPRESENTATION - My purpose as a Son of God is to put on display the Culture of the Kingdom and the nature of my Heavenly Father through this business. I am the Salt and Light to these world systems.
4. DOMINION MANDATE - I rule for the benefit of those that are subject to my rule, my staff and their families are under my immediate rule, followed by my Customers & Creditors.
5. MISSION STATEMENT - I am but a Steward of Distribution of the GOD LIFE not a Manager of Financial Resources.
6. ECONOMIC PERSPECTIVE - The turnover of the Business is my inheritance, I distribute my inheritance, which is supplied according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.
7. CULTURAL PHILOSOPHY - "I did not come to be served, I came to serve you".
8. CHRISTOCENTRIC HUMAN CAPITAL - I hire the Graces of Apostles and Prophets in Directorship and Pastors, Teachers, Evangelists has Managers that have technical qualifications too.
9. QUALITY ASSURANCE - I am a King in Rule, so I do not settle for cheap or second grade products or services. Finery is part of my culture.
10. CORE DRIVERS - Love, Compassion, Vulnerability, Tenderness, Integrity & Peace.
11. KINGDOM ADVANCEMENT – The Kingdom of My Father is creating the current crisis in the World, we are not victims of crisis, we are immune to crisis.
12. PERSONAL CONVICTION - To live by reaping and sowing falls short of living from an Inheritance. I submit to the Higher Spiritual Law. My inheritance does not run out, I live from the Throne of my Father, which He supplies abundantly above and beyond what I can ask or think.
13. ACCOUNTABILITY STRUCTURE – I am not a lawless, I love accountability; I have a spiritual father and spiritual family that I am answerable to at all times. For this purpose was I sent by my Father, to destroy the works of the enemy and to establish the works of my Father.
First Fruit Principle- Here again I will talk about the attitude of the heart behind this principle which is far more valuable than the act itself. Maturity will produce the right attitude and the right actions to follow. Being a spiritual father I am looking for correct internal condition of the heart first always. Now the problem that we are facing is that the spiritual leaders do not want to correct the attitude behind tithing and giving and first fruit for fear that the members will stop giving and really mess up their Church budgets, which can be catastrophic. So they would rather keep the people in spiritual infancy and make sure that the Church budgets are maintained. This is the purpose of the Church today, it is that way and many will not change it. However is that the purpose of the Kingdom? NO! so clearly the functional Church today is not representational of the functional Kingdom today. For more on that subject read my hub on the Church and the Kingdom.
The First Fruit principal can be unpacked with understanding it in the natural order of sowing and reaping in bible times. All through the year the Farmer has been sowing seed in the ground and trusting God to send good rains and to prevent pestilence from eating his crop and finally the trees begin to blossom and there is much activity as the bees, birds and insects begin to pollinate the flowers and then the petals fall off and what remains is a little node of a potential fruit. The farmer must now wait for that fruit to grow to maturity for the journey is not over yet. Here too he must hope that his ripening fruit will not be damaged by frost bite, hail, too much rain, draught or pestilence. After many months of waiting and patience, He wakes up one morning to see one of the fruit fully ripened. It suddenly dawns on him as he landscapes the Farm, he see signs of the first ripened fruit on every tree. This is the first sign that he is about to receive his harvest any time now. Everything that he has been waiting for comes right down to this one very exuberant moment for the Farmer, because this is the indication that he can sell his crop at the market, pay his creditors, feed his family, use the money to buy more seed and equipment, pay his staff and the profits will be enough to sustain him for another year. So he eagerly walks out into the farm and picks the first ripe fruit he comes across and tastes it. Wow! it is juicy, firm and sweet, just perfect. All that waiting has been worth the pain and anxiety. This is his harvest, this is the most valuable thing to him only because it the signpost and indication of what is to come when he harvests the entire crop. Should he harvest the first fruit and take it to market, he can fetch a premium price for them because people are waiting for them. He can make money now. So he harvests the first fruit and has no problem in doing just that because he deserves all of it, it is his right, it the fruit of his labour. The children need new shoes for school and he has been promising his wife a new dress and night of dinner and dancing, that hole above the Kitchen sink can be repaired and he can repair the blunt blades on the plough, and he can give his labourer an early thank you bonus. The First Fruit represents to him a tremendous value of waiting and trusting God. Then it suddenly hits him, but to sell it like just another batch of fruit will cheapen the experience of months of toil and pain and he knows deep down that he cannot sell it at the market. He must give it away, to the one that is truly deserving of having this, for it must represent to him the consummate experience of everything and the recipient must be more valuable than the gift, so he offers it to God his Father by taking it to the Priest at the Temple.
Now switch the scene, the immature son in the Desert of his life, waiting for his inheritance to manifest, having had to overcome many trials and tests over the years. Imprisoned by his soulish circumstances. Rejected by his brothers and family. Humiliated and broken, he is being changed from an orphan to a son. He dreams of the Festive atmosphere at the celebration of his coming out, he can taste the ruby wine and smell the roasting veal on the fire and he can hear the joyous music and see the beautiful dancers in his Father’s House, He is wearing a royal robe, lavishly ornate and opulent and His Fathers ring on his finger and the sandals of sonship on his feet. He patiently waits for the Father to announce , “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased”. To see His father smile over him was worth all the pain, just like a pregnant woman, that sees her baby for the first time after extreme pain of the delivery. He falls asleep with a smile and tears streaming down his face, with this fading thought in his head, ”When Lord will I come to maturity and walk into my inheritance, how much longer Father? The Bank is going to repossess the house tomorrow, Father what can I do but just let go, you are all I have now”. He is awakened by the rattling keys in the prison gate and the Prison guard shouting, “Wake up! Joseph you have been summoned to appear in the Courts of Pharaoh.
Gen 42:6 -7 And Joseph was the governor over the land, and it was he that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth. And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself a stranger unto them, and spoke roughly unto them; and he said unto them, “Where do you come from? And they said, “From the land of Canaan to buy food”.vs25 Then Joseph commanded to fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man's money into his sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them. But Joseph made haste from their presence for his spirit yearned deeply to see his brothers again: and he sought a place to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.
Joseph represents a mature son Jesus Christ that receives his inheritance and saves His Nation from a drought and destruction by bringing his family into the safety of the Kingdom despite all of the suffering he had to endure; he could not hate but love the very ones that sold him into slavery and death. He had every right to meter out vengeance on his brothers but He is consumed by tender love for them and His Fathers House. So He gives up his own life to restore his orphan fallen brother as a First Fruit Offering to the Heavenly Father, so that the Father can have a harvest of many sons and fill every room in the Father House. This is the Spirit of the First Fruit Principle.
Conclusion: I want to bring to your attention a scripture that many choose to never ever preach but yet they want the title of Apostle and Spiritual Father and City Bishop etc, its found in 1 Corinthians 9; THE STANDARD OF HOLY APOSTLESHIP. To this I have pledged an allegience to authenticate my Apostleship to my Spiritual Household presently and to those that will be set into this family by the Holy Spirit in the future.
Am I not free? am I not an Apostle?, I have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not the results of the work in the Lord? Even though I may not be an Apostle to others, surely I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in Christ. This is my defense of those who sit in judgement of me. Don't we have the right to food and drink? Dont we have the right to take a beleieveing wife along with us as do other apostles and theLords brothers and Cephas? Or is it I and Barnabas that must work for a living?
Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk?Do I say this merely from a human point of view? Doesn't the Law say the same thing? For it is written in the Law of Moses, Do not muzzle the Ox while it is treading out the grain. Is it about oxen that God is concerned? Surely he says this for us doesn't he? Yes this was written for us because when the ploughman ploughs and the tresher treshes, they ought to do so in the sharing of the harvest.
If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much that we reap a material harvest from you? If others have this right of support from you, shouldn't we have all the more? BUT! we did not use this right. On the contrary we put up with anything rather than hinder the Gosepl. Dont you know that those who work in the Temple get their food from the Temple and those who share at the altar, share in what is offered on the altar? In the same way the Lord has commanded those who preach the Gospel should receive their living from the Gospel. But I have not used any of these rights. And I am not writing in the hope that you will do such things for me, I would rather die than have anybody deprive me of this boast. For yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel. If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward, if not voluntarily I am simply discharging the trust committed to me. What then is my reward? Just this that in preaching the gospel that I may offer it free of charge, and so not make use of my rights in preaching it.
I have every right as a spiritual father, and apostle to ask, to expect and to receive money, tithes, offerings and first fruit from my sons in my Household but I choose to lay down that right voluntarily, to separate me from those that will enforce this right and Lord it over many of Gods people. To distinguish between Apostles and Holy Apostles. This is my right and sacrifice of love.
Grace, Peace, Love and Mercy
