A Table For Two

Updated on July 6, 2013

Praying will not take an hour of your time. It is the way that we can get closer to God, talking to Him, sharing Him everything and letting Him be your guide every day.

Please let this story inspire you to always remember God in your life. He will always be waiting for you.

A Table for Two Reserved by God to Us
A Table for Two Reserved by God to Us

It's 7 in the evening when a man entered the restaurant. He chooses the table for two beside the window which he reserved a day before, the table He used to sit for the last couple of days. Then the waiter approached Him.

"Good evening Sir, May I take your order?"

The man smiled. "Maybe I'll just wait for her first but can I ask for a glass of water?”

"Certainly, Sir." the waiter said and turned around.

He waited for his date for another 2 hours. After a while, the same waiter came to the table.

"Another glass, Sir?"

"No, thank you," he smiled.

The waiter, out of his curiosity, asked why He keeps coming back on the restaurant to wait for the girl who always keeps cancelling the date for a couple of days now.

The man replied slowly. "Because I love her and I'm willing to wait for her."

Time ticked by so fast. The clock says its 12 midnight. People on the restaurant are slowly packing and leaving. The man slowly stood up and put a tip beside the glass and approached the waiter.

"May I reserve the table again for two tomorrow, same time."

The waiter answered, "Certainly sir, we will reserve the table again. But do you think she'll be here tomorrow?"

The man, with a sad face on His face replied. "I know she will be here."

And he slowly walked out the door of the restaurant.

Meanwhile, Jenah was having so much fun at a party of a friend that she forgot what time is it. It’s already past 3 in the morning when the party was finished. When she got home and lay on her bed, she remembered her 7PM prayer meeting. She promised she'll take time to talk to God but she forgot.

As she closed her eyes to sleep, she murmured... "I know God will understand."

How many times do we keep telling and making promises to ourselves to take a minute of our time to prayers and eventually we forgot? I know that God is waiting for us on that table He always reserves especially for us.

He's always there, day by day, waiting for us to remember Him and share with Him a moment of our time.

But sometimes our plans changes and we never keep track of our busy schedules. And we always say God will always understand why we cannot make it, why we keep cancelling our meeting with Him.

God loves us so much that He is willing to wait for us every day.

He always reserves a table for two, for just you and Him to talk so that you can get to know Him much better. Let us take time to pray and meet Him and sit with Him at the table for two he reserved.

God is so good to always love us and understand us. He's always there to guide and help us along the way.

Remember "Footprints in the Sand?" The man questioned why he can see only one set of footprint on the time he's much troubled?

Because it was then that God carried him.

Unknown, I told you you'd become Known! You just have, my love. You have turned to God when you needed Him most. You recognized that you needed something or someone other than yourself to bring you out of your darkness. I am so, so proud of you! People can't and don't always give us what we need to be strong when we're tired of holding ouselves up. God ALWAYS does!

..."and I said, God why do I only see one set of footprints in the sand?" And God said, "it was then, my child, that I carried you."

      Amen!!!!!

Good writing. We must pray in season and out of season. God is the answer, and He has the answers. We pray that God will continue to bless and keep.

We don't always understand the ways of God, but we do know He will do what only God can do.

      Stay Well
