Inspirational, Uplifting and Encouraging Bible Verses: - Psalm 119: When Tough Times, Challenges and Difficulty Come

Updated on December 8, 2013

“Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight.” Psalm 119:143NIV

Things can go wrong, sometimes terribly wrong. The seriousness of a particular predicament can vary from minor to major. Many of us can remember an instance where we called out to God, claiming we had absolutely reached our limit and needed help now. I can remember two such instances very clearly. The situation specifics were different, but my state of mind was the same: I felt truly at a point of collapse. Tend to believe God answered in both cases.

Sometimes the situation is not entirely immediate, overwhelming or desperate, but of great concern nonetheless. A multitude of issues can accumulate, pile up on any given day. This might be a more typical scenario, more frequently encountered. For example, an issue between you and child, coupled by same with spouse. Throw in a stressful situation at work, along with some sort of financial/medical strain. The whip cream on this disastrous sundae we are building comes in the form of you being exhausted to being with. The cherry on top, always there, is the horrendous news you typically get online or via radio/TV.

This is the time to stop, pray and reflect on God’s word. Perfect time to be encouraged, that He is there and is much bigger than any of our problems. His “commands” remain unshakable despite what this sometimes crazy world and life throw our way.
