A Witches Path

Updated on February 19, 2016

The Start

Well, where to begin about this topic? I am unsure what or why I decided to take this new journey on the Wiccan path, but so far I am enjoying it. I guess I would say this all starts from when I was a child. I have always been intrigued by wands, witches, and magick. This all started a year ago about by picking up a book that looked interesting to me and it manifested from there. The book was Grimoire for the Greenwitch (A complete book of shadows) by Ann Moura. For a few months it just sat around until I picked it up and looked through it. This book has everything from palm reading, tarot, to the basics of an altar and magick. A great book to start your long awaited path with. Anyways, for a little over a year now I have been picking things up to start an altar and be able to do small forms of spells. Nothing to expensive.

My Witchy Point

During this time of collecting, starting, and trying new things in this path I have had a good experience. I have been talking with some people who are close to me about what they think and feel about my new choice. Very positive feedback and advice. I also, during all of this, am taking the time to research and learn about all aspects of this culture as to not get into things that may greatly affect my life or others. I have done a few spells and had a wonderful time doing them. Also they are still in the works, so the outcome is to be determined. I will continue to learn and speak with friends and family on their feelings of this decision also their own beliefs and paths. This was a personal decision and I fully accept all religions, ways, and beliefs. Blessed Be.

Witch's word

In the photo above is the Rede that this particular path follows. I thought I would say that like the photo suggest this path is not about doing evil or harm. It is about nature and doing good things in the world. Spells and the tools are merely helpful things or instruments to change our lives through ritual or spiritual doings. Hope this was interesting and keep watching for more updates on my journey.

Hello and welcome to the witchy Hubpages arena. I assume you are beginning your practice as a Wiccan, yes? In that case, I want to stress the point that the terms Wiccan and Witch are not always interchangable and that not all Witches identify as Wiccan and thus, do not follow the Rede or any of the moral guidelines common in Wicca.

This is an important point, I think, for all those new to the Craft because you will likely encounter a lot of witches who are not Wiccan and don't share the same values/beliefs, but that their paths are just as valid and personal as yours. Eases a lot of tension, for sure, for everyone to be on the same page. :) Best of luck in your journey!
