A Woman of Great Worth
"She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness."
Proverbs 31:27 NIV
"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
Proverbs 31:30 NIV
"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
Proverbs 31:28 NIV
"For God did not give us a Spirit of timidity, but a Spirit of power, of Love, and self-discipline[.“
2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)
To possess a beautiful spirit, a woman must learn to observe self-discipline. A Christian woman who is truly controlled by the Holy Spirit is living a highly disciplined life. A truly disciplined Christian woman is living in the center of God’s will. She is wise and exercises discipline in the use of her time, money, talents and other resources. Her resources are utilized at maximum potential for God’s Glory. She will receive the best from God.
This kind of woman also exercises discipline in all areas of her life including her career life, love life, family life, ministry life, social life. This kind of woman will not indulge herself with a wasteful utilization of resources such as time and money. She also practices moderation in her consumption of food. She is not given to gluttony. She will not waste her time spending too many hours in front of a television patronizing meaningless TV programs.]
Pertaining to her career life, she observes punctuality and professionalism and proper work ethics. With regards to her love life, she greatly honors marriage that she will never engage herself in a short time, worldly romantic affairs. As a mother, she disciplines her children in the ways of the Lord. She will not engage herself in worthless social activities that do not promote sound biblical values. She will not also engage in church ministries wherein she is not called by God to be there. She will not commit herself to too many ministries that she will lose time for her family.
Speaking of a highly disciplined life, one can think of a woman whom can be considered a woman of excellence, she is the wife of noble character in Proverbs ch.31:10-31.
This woman has exercised discipline in all areas of her life and has managed well the affairs of her household. She does not have any idle moment and she keeps herself busy for her industry. She sees to it that her money is well invested. She does not have any wasted resources. She disciplines well her children in the ways of the Lord. Her husband has gained the respect of the whole city because he has married a highly disciplined woman. She is indeed a lovely treasure worth seeking. Those who find her, find great wealth.
(Bible Text: Proverbs 31)
Sister Baby is one woman I can think when it comes to excellence in household management and discipline. As a Pastor's wife, she manages her household very well and was able to raise up godly offspring that can be a blessing in the church and in the society. In spite of being occupied with managing their family business, she is able to attend to the needs of her family well. Her husband is very well respected in their church. All of her three children were able to complete their studies and are active in mission activities of their church. A true woman of God does excel in maintaining discipline in her entire household and also in leading her children to godliness.
Be a highly disciplined woman and live beyond mediocrity, be a woman of excellence.
“Discipline is the soul of the army. It makes small numbers formidable. Procures success to the weak, and esteem to all.”
-George Washington-
