A long time on the wheel

Updated on October 10, 2012

He has a special purpose just for you.

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” Matthew 4:17 New International Version

It took thirty years to complete. It has taken God thirty years to mold me into His design. When I was in my twenties I tried to obey all the Ten Commandments to make God happy. See if you can keep them all for a day. If we live by the law, if we break one law we are guilty of judgment which leads to hell. It drove me nuts with frustration until finally giving up on pleasing Him.

Ten years later I began treeplanting. Here it took Him thirteen years to teach me love and concern for others. Almost everybody in camp came from broken homes and were tossed from parent to parent and felt unloved. As well I was exposed to the self righteousness of women’s lib, animal rights activists and tree huggers. If a man ever talked about or to a woman they way the women’s libbers do to men and about us we would be thrown into prison. They spew hate. The animal rights activists were smoking too much wacky weed and I was often left what planet they came from. The same was true with tree huggers and most university students. You might be shocked at the absolute rubbish they pass of as education in those “hallowed halls). Time and time again I proved them completely and absolutely full of it.

From there God moved me half a planet away to teach children, teenagers, university students and adults.

Now God has me at the stage where I am a Christian writer. The intent is to share Gods love, compassion, blessing, strength, forgiveness, discipline and ultimately teach us to have a relationship with Him and follow the purpose He has in our lives.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”Jeremiah 1:5

Now we are not all born to be prophets but we were born for a specific purpose in Gods family.

Gods next move in our journey was to teach me that it is not by obeying the law that we are saved but by His loving grace and that He wants an intimate relationship with us. Then, because of His grace we do good works to show our love for Him and submit ourselves completely to His will in our lives. It is at this stage God will reveal His omniscient purpose in our lives. When that occurs you will NEVER ask the question again:” Why am I here, what is the purpose of my life.”

The kingdom of heaven is worth infinitely more than the cost of discipleship, and those who know where the treasure lies joyfully abandon everything else to secure it. D.A. Carson

Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Elohim (God our creator) for the wonderful gift of being created for such a privilege to serve you in Your blessed kingdom. I give thanks for this blessing in the name of He who became a servant to all, Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

      Good morning 2besure.

Thank you for your gracious comment and support.

When we get out of our comfort zone, we get a deeper understanding of God and our place in His precious family. It brings us closer to Him as well.

May you enjoy your walk with Jesus today and every day

What a wonderful journey. It can be scary when we are moved from our comfort zone. 'But the Lord knoweth the way we take, and when He is finished, we shall come forth at gold!' Voted up, useful.

I am reminded at how God has moved me to different areas to teach me. Finding life's purpose is so rewarding, especially as God leads you through the process.
