Do You Believe?

Do you believe in Psychics? If so, would you consult a Psychic and pay for a Psychic reading? The business of Psychics has turned into a two billion dollar phenomena.

From my understanding, a Psychic is someone born with a gift that enables him or her to perceive what a person is thinking, and/or foretell future events, and/or sense the thoughts of dead spirits.

Can you imagine how you would feel if you could see events before they happen, or talk to dead people? Many stories have been written about people like this. We are fascinated with television series and movies that feature these characters. More often than not though, these characters struggle with their psychic ability, having trouble sleeping or leading normal lives. A person with real psychic ability would probably not want to go public. I believe a natural Psychic would prefer to live a private life.

Commercial Psychics on the other hand, choose to sell information. Even if they have the gift or talent, they are forcing themselves to adhere to time restrictions to be profitable. They have to produce results so therefore they make things up.

Physic's are provided today in a variety of ways. You have your telephone “Psychic Hot-lines”, your computer “On-Line Psychics“, and your live private "Psychic Readings”. There are many books written by Psychics. Some of these books tell you how you too can become psychic. There are Psychic schools. In these schools you can become a “Certified Psychic” and then work for a “Psychic Hot-line“.

Did you know that some people are hooked on Psychics and paying up to $20,000.00 a year for Psychic readings. How sad. They are so depressed about a loss, or so desperate for encouragement that they develop an addiction to Psychics. Maybe there ought to be some legislation to control this business. Anyone can claim they are psychic, hang a sign, and charge away.

Anderson Cooper conducted a great investigation into the business of Psychics. Before you decide to consult a Psychic, please take the time to view this video.

Sillybella, I think you already know the answer to your question. Do not seek help, help comes from within you. God loves you and will help, you need only to ask. Once you begin a relationship with Him, you will never be lonely.

I was vulnerable - lonely, depressed, with financial problems and had nobody to turn to. I consulted many online psychics who told me I had bad luck and bad magic on me. They took my money but nothing changed in my life and when I asked why, they claimed in the end that I was so badly cursed that they couldn't help me (yet they took thousands from me, claiming they could help me and needed it to buy materials to undo curses and spells).

My worst experience was recently with "Master Psychic Lady of Wisdom" from Christian Gifted Psychics/prophetessladyofwisdom whom I thought - being Christian and using Jesus' name, could help me. I had sometimes sent her hundreds per transaction for "white light blessings" and when I asked her why there were still no results, she became rude and abusive and said my case was severe and I had extremely bad magic on me. She offered a refund to which I said yes, but then she became crazy in her next email stating I had no right to ask for a refund (?) and told me I was psychotic (when I had accepted her offer to refund? And when I questioned why there had been no results?).

She also told me "all the blessings that were casted will now be reversed. So consider yourself RE CURSED".

What do you think? Is she real...?

I agree with your source Alastar. Also those deluded about being psychics probably have been led to believe so from someone who stood to gain financially. Thanks for your comment.

Interesting article Frannie. The majority of so-called psychics are either deluders or deluded themselves. According to one source that should know-in my opinion that is,-there are only a handful of people on earth that can truly contact the "Other Side" and there not supposed to although some do anyway. Also those "contacted" on the other side are usually not too pleased about it either.

Hi Frannie! At one time in my life I believed in the ability of these so-called psychics until I saw the movie "Ghost" (Whoopie Goldberg, Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore). I changed my mind after that! lol

Great hub! a lot of people are being scammed. It is a shame.

Hi RealHousewife, marellen and Sunshine! Thanks for your insightful comments. This is the first time I've been back here since I published and this Hub is loaded with ads for psychic readings. Oh no...I'm contributing to the problem!

I also watched Anderson Cooper's with John Edwards and it left me in awe! I don't believe in psychics but dang it sometimes I get caught up in it! About 27 years ago I paid a palm reader $20 and what she said I laughed at because it was never going to happen until 6 months later when it came true but I had forgotten all about her until years later and I went WOW that's WILD! I've never been back to a palm reader since even though i've been tempted.

I did watch Anderson Cooper the other day with John Edwards who can talk with the dead. I must admit he is pretty amazing. I don't know how I feel about this topic but I will admit there are many scams out there and most are.

Too Funny:) yep another big scam! You made me think of Madam Cleo - remember her? From Jamaica mon:) lol. Crazy. I am so shocked to hear that type of business is booming in this economy - it just proves how desperate people are.

Now I hope there could really be some gifted people - and I think it's as odd as a 6th toe too but in certain circumstances I think we can do great things with our minds. I did hear about the psychic schools too! Unbelievable - don't people know Harry Potter is a fantasy? Lol
