How many of the Six do You do
Jesus Leads to Life
The right way
There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:haughty eyes,
a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. Proverbs 6: 16-19
Haughty eyes: blatantly and disdainfully proud Webster’s Dictionary
Do you look down on others because of their colour, nationality, homeless or are in any way different from you?
I live by the motto: It is easy to tear down, but more rewarding to build up.
Which do you do?
Hands that shed innocent blood.
How innocent are babies that are murdered in abortion? The difference between killing and murder is that killing is done for self protection like in war. Murder is taking an innocents life. What is more innocent that an unborn child? Can you think of any other ways that shed innocent blood?
A heart that devices wicked schemes.
I know many people that work harder at scamming others than they do at earning an honest living. Indeed, sometimes it would be less work to do it honestly than to be scammers. Have you ever been scammed? I am a trusting man and can not count them all. Now walking close to God it is as if He comes to me and sofly whispers in my ear RUN AWAY. It has created a lot less problems in my life and over time it is revealed what He said was good advice.
Feet that are quick to rush to evil.
Do you rush to church as fast as you do to bars to get drunk and pick someone up for a one night stand? Can you think of any other way people rush to evil?
A false witness.
Do you spread malicious lies? I go by the motto: Don’t say behind their back what you do not have the courage to say to their face. Is that a good motto for you?
A person who stirs up trouble in the community.
I know some people who are not happy unless they are causing trouble for others. I avoid them like the plague. Some I have seen in old age and they were the most lonely, pitiful creatures ever saw. Are there trouble makers in your life?
Prayer: Please Jehovah Shammah (The Lord is present) guide my steps that I do not offend You with any of these detestable things. When these types of people cross my path, please, give me the wisdom and strength to deal with them appropriately. I ask in Him who showed us how to behave in a Holy manner, Jesus Christ. Amen
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
