Angels In Disquise

Updated on March 12, 2013

Stranded On A Lonely Road

My daughter and I were talking about the existence of Angels, when she related a true story that had happened to her and her brother, (both of whom are profoundly deaf). They were moving from Minnesota to Utah---one driving their car and the other driving an RV which was also pulling a trailer. When they had reached Nebraska, the trailer had a flat tire. They were in the middle of nowhere when this happened. They also didn't even have a tire iron or a spare to change the tire. My daughter told me that her brother started to pray. He asked the Lord to please help them, for they didn't know what to do---and couldn't continue their trip without help. Soon after his prayer, a little old, rusty car came up the road and stopped. A young man in his thirties, nicely dressed in a white shirt and tie got out of the car. They showed him the problem and he told them to follow him. They came to an very old, small gas station, and he removed the flat. My daughter stayed there with the RV and trailer, while her brother took their car and followed the young man further into town to get the tire fixed.

The Strange Town

When my son got to the town, it looked deserted---no other people were in sight. The young man pulled up to a building that looked like an old shop. He lifted up the garage door-like entrance and another young man was standing there inside. This young man took the flat tire and proceeded to close the door again, while my son waited outside. A few minutes later he appeared again with the fixed tire. My son offered him $75.00---but he only took seven. It was then that my son realized he still had the first young man's tire iron, and turned to give it to him, when he realized he was gone--he and his car were no where in sight---he checked down the road--but there was no car anywhere. When he went back to check in the shop, the door was locked. He went around to the side of the building and looked in the window. To his surprise, the building was totally vacant---no young man---no equipment inside--it was a totally empty building. Bewildered, he drove back to the gas station, put on the tire--with the tire iron he had, and they proceeded on their journey.

My daughter explained that it must have been angels that helped them that day. My son told me the very same story.
