Anger, Peace, & Nature
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
When you struggle with anger and stress it is easy to make rash decisions and say stupid stuff. God help us. After we are calm we may feel dumb because of the way we overreacted. All we can do is apologize and move on. Confess our sins to the Lord. He knows our hearts and He is willing to readily forgive us.
If you have the time there are a few things to do to calm down. Go for a walk to a destination that is away from crowds, maybe by a river; try to observe some nature, when you come back have an hour bath. When you come out have a cup of chamomile tea and then lie down and read or rest. Try to do this a couple times a week. You will be amazed of how these things will relax you. Pray while you walk and just try to relax. I think that this is the best type of anger management. Try not to drive in traffic it because it will just make you tenser. Stress is not healthy but it happens. We know that there are triggers such as hormones, being tired, work related problems. Just try to escape with these simple ideas. For me nature is a cure all. I love to be outside and take it all in. Simple little things such as watching a squirrel gather nuts, or the Canada geese flying south; the river rushing by and the colored leaves floating on it. It feels so good to decompress. What do you do to decompress?
