Another Kind Of Vision

David, the Lord's Servant stated in Psalm 33, verse 18:

"Behold the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy."

Different Ways To See

How do you use your eyes?

Do they look haunting?

Or doting?

Are they full of surprise?

Some have the look

That is full of Green Envy.

Some have eyes that are bountiful,

Their motive to give us plenty.

Some have

Wanton Eyes

Which are puffed up in Pride.

Some eyes are lustful,

Trying to get on your inside.

There are eyes that

Just need everything that they see

And there are eyes that avert

Only see what they

Want to see.

But did you know that

God loves us

No matter how we see.

We are the

Apple of His Eye

Doting over you and me.

Sight is everything- Is your pitcher half empty, or half full?

From the New Testament, the First letter to John that St. Paul wrote, in the second chapter, verses 16 and 17 says:

"For everything in the world-- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and what he does--comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."

From New Testament, the New International Version

Sight Provoked By Light

Seven sets of eyes

Many ways for spies

To reveal the truth

Or tell us lies.

Taking Not a Glance

To our worldly ways,

But the Son of God

Spent His Focus on

The last of Days.

Bringing us a New vision

To shed Light unto

The Darkness.

It is time

To be prepared

To Fill your Lamps with oil

Then The Lord Jesus

Be our guiding light.

Only few are chosen

To share the Vision.

Thank you so much Spirit Whisperer and Tamarajo, I spent a lot of time considering how to present this hub, and then realized that these two poems are linked together and to separate the two would distract the reader from its true meaning. There is so much to say about the eyes. I wrote another poem many years ago, about the Eyes, and from the contest I entered with it, it got picked to be published in a Literary Anthology of many other poets. I am so glad I still have that book.

Thanks so much for your comments; they give me encouragement to produce more.

      "It is time

      To be prepared

      Lamps with oil"

Enjoy being the "apple of His eye" We will so need to know that as your second poem suggests.

Two great poems but the first is favourite. "The eyes are the windows to the soul" as my grandad would say. he would also say, "If a man won't look you in the eye son, don't trust him." Thank you.
