Are You Living Your Life Purpose, or Caught Up in a Realm of Escapisms?

The Escape Artist

I am sad to say, but a great many people in this world are not living their life purpose. They are living someone else’s dream. They have sold themselves short, not realizing who they really are. These individuals have forgotten about their precious Soul.

Your Soul is the reason you are here!

You came to this Earth plane with a special purpose. You came here to do wonderful and magnificent things. However, you have forgotten this. Many have been sidetracked by society’s so-called happiness formula:

“If you have this latest gadget, you will be happy. If you have a trillion dollars in your bank account, you will be happy.” And on and on the list goes. These are like drugs that give you a quick fix, but leave you feeling worse, once the “high” is gone.

What I find crazy is that our hearts know what makes us happy. However, we bi-pass this road to happiness and head down a road of never-ending non-fulfillment, all the time shaking our fists to the Heavens, not realizing that we are the creators of our life.

You only have to look at your current life to know whether you are following your life purpose or not. Is your life a mountain of escapisms? What are you avoiding? Why are you running from your Soul? Have you forgotten the beautiful magnificence that you are? Perhaps, like many, you live your life vicariously through television, movies, and books. You find the lives of these fictional characters more interesting than your own life. I want to say that it does not have to be this way. You can create wonderful things as well. You can be an inspiring force in the world. All it takes is a shift in your thoughts and attitude. You can gain wonderful insight and wisdom from your Soul.

Those that listen to their Soul feel connected to life. They are happy, because they are in alignment with their Soul. They are in alignment with Creation. They know they have come here to accomplish amazing things. We could also say that these beautiful Souls remember who they really are.

In our purest sense, we are unconditional love.

That is where we came from and that is what we are made of. However, a great many do not remember this. Instead, they find themselves giving “conditional” love to one another. “If you do this and that for me, I will love you.” Of course, people do not literally say this to one another, but their actions do.

How Do I Know If I Am Not Living My Life Purpose?

This is quite is easy to tell. Those that are not living their life purpose are most likely to feel unhappy. In extreme case, people may feel depressed, or even lose the desire to live. Basically, these individuals that are not following their life purpose feel unfulfilled. Empty. They may possess multiple degrees and make good money, yet they feel hollow inside. They have not realized that getting another degree and having more money in the bank is not going to satisfy their Soul. Your Soul does not care about material things. It only cares what you are “being.” It wants to experience love. After all, that is what it is.

Your Soul wants to be REAL, not fake.

Following someone else’s dream, living solely to please others, is not what you came here to do. If you are feeling lost in how you should live your life, then, by all means, you should talk to your Soul. These are some questions you may want to ask yourself: “Who am I? What am I? Why did I come here? What is my purpose in life?” These questions will put you back on the map of your Soul. Your Soul has been waiting a long time to re-connect with you.

Find Your Passion! Life is Not a Dress Rehearsal

Getting Back On the Map

There are many ways to get back in touch with your Soul. As I have just said, you can talk to your Soul directly by asking it questions. Keep your mind open, because the answer may come in unexpected ways. The answer may come in your dreams. It may even come through songs and movies.

We live in an Infinite Universe.

There are infinite ways for things to reach you. Another way to re-connect with your Soul is through nature. To me, this is God’s church. Taking a nice stroll, and really taking in the beauty and wonder, does wonders for your Soul. I also want to mention the importance of meditation and affirmative prayers. Meditation helps to calm the mind, allowing you to connect with your Soul and God. An affirmative prayer can be an effective way to reconnect with the Soul. Let me share an example:

“Dear Beloved Soul, it is my desire to connect with you now. I know that all things in this Universe are connected, and I am connected to you. Therefore, I thank you for connecting with me this moment. So Be It!”

This type of prayer is very powerful and effective. It is declarative and based in complete faith. There is also journaling as a way to communicate with your Soul. You may want to write down questions that you have for your Soul. Then, pay attention to the answers that will come your way. You will be surprised. Synchronicities come when you expect them to.

Before ending this writing, I just want to say that your Soul loves you very much. It has been waiting, ever so patiently, for the day of your re-connection. There is nothing more beautiful than this expression of love that your Soul is. And when you are in this state of being, you are radiating love that is truly divine.

“The Divine in me acknowledges the Divine in you.”

Share your love with the world.

Thank you everydaymedium. I agree that we need to follow our passion. I see more and more people realizing the importance of listening to their soul. Those that are not are living in frustration.

I love this Terry. We so need to learn to live in our passion we are always so willing to compromise our soul for some cheap substitute that our mind tells us will make us happy
