Arms Open Wide
What a Wonderful Day God Has Made!
When you are looking for love:
It is 2013..
Christmas is past but I pray it always is in your hearts.
It’s a new year. What are we going to do for the New Year?
Let’s help one another. Let’s always be kind, you never know when you will be talking to an Angel.
"His banner over me was love:" Song of Solomon 2:4
As a child, love for me was, smelling grandma’s cookies baking:
The laundry hanging out back on the clothesline and on a rainy day hanging in the house smelling of musk, and waking up in terror from a nightmare with loving arms holding and rocking and soothing full of love.
I could hear love in my mother’s voice reading me bedside stories and spun dreams of years to come while holding me on her lap, her love so generous with lots of tender hugs.
I remember holding my father’s hand so tightly so scared I would be taken away by a boogey man. Dad was a great dad, he would take me on walks and he would point out wonderful things we would see in our neighbors, explained things to me so I would understand.
I would feel love as my mother would vigorously brush my long blond hair. Love was being cared for, protected, and wanted. I was a child in a secure and happy home.
Now, love has become a sunset, the purring of kittens, and the presence of God. Through HIM and HIS promise I know that the greatest love’s experiences are still to come.
I pray for all of us, Loving Father, I wish I’d known as a child what I know now—that I could find nurturing love in YOU, GOD!
I still need it, Father, not only for myself, but also to pass on to others.
The love you’re seeking, GOD has in abundance. Find a quiet place and spend a few minutes basking In His love.
Have a wonderful and productive New Year. Let’s be good to each other.
