How To Get Along – Taurus and Scorpio

The Bull and The Scorpion

This series on AstroCompatibility will cover all of the potential matchups in the Zodiac. We will continue this series thinking about and commenting on Scorpio and Taurus.  You can get an EBOOK with all 12 matchups for each sun sign, including Taurus or Scorpio at Christofer's new website: http://www.astrologygetalong.com.

Taurus - Scorpio

Scorpio is Water and Fixed. Taurus is Earth and Fixed. This fixity manifests itself differently in each. Taurus has an inner fixity that gives them the calm and the certainty that they wear so well. Scorpio’s fixity is internally realized. They smolder with intensity. It churns away constantly like working wine or a hot bubbling spring. It is not likely that any would predict that this would be a great union, without some concomitant astrological specifics in the moon or rising signs, or specific aspects in their individual charts. So, one would probably predict at the outset, that this would be a very difficult relationship.

While Scorpio longs for the outer power and calm of Taurus, this might draw. Taurus would like to have that inner high voltage magnetic intensity of Scorpio. This could also have a drawing quality. Ultimately, we all see aspects in others that we admire and wish we had. These two are in a sense, made to envy each other in a strange sort of way. But also, since both of these signs are so proud and apparently powerful, they would seldom confess that envy or that jealousy to even themselves, even if it were late at night in a moment of quiet introspection. Transcendence is needed here. High level souls who are undergoing transformation as a pattern in life. If you are dealing with those kinds of individuals, then this kind of honesty and growth are possible.

Positive Postulate: This positive is outlined with the most optimistic of outlooks. If both of these individuals majors in compassion, consciousness and “seeing things the way others see them” – this couple or union could manifest great power and dramatic potential achievement. These two could make a substantial impression on their environment and their world. Taurean charm and warmth combined with Scorpio (or Eagle or Dove) personalities of clarity and personal electricity could bowl people over. They could literally bask in the glow of their unified image.

Romance Recommendation: Romance is at once what makes us so human, and not animalistic, but it is also so primary, that it brings out the basic and the emotional and the psychological all at once. It thus bears us to ourselves and each other, while it also elevates us. Taurus and Scorpio, romantically could lead their participants down a railroad track that could take them to mountains and cliffs and valleys and plains. Fights, powerful heights, nonverbal protracted silences, tremendous soulful feelings could all result over the years. Tolerance would be recommended for these signs that do not do tolerance well.

Conflict Quotient: As a comedienne was known to say: “Don’t even start!” Pointing her finger at all involved. Scorpio, (whether a lizard, a scorpion, an eagle or a dove) knows that conflict is the original boiling cauldron of life. Energy, life and new mutations all come from the oppositional combination of elements. Night and day, hot and cold, dry and wet - oppositional duality is what causes the “sparks” of the “next new thing”. Conflict is basic to existence. Scorpio knows that and does not fear it. Taurus knows that its own power can be brought into a fight, with all of its might, if it must. And if it must, it will.

Peace Parlay: Life in the end is repetitive and mundane, and so is Romance itself. This factor asks the question: "Can we be bored together over the long term?" In this case, one would seek out repetition and boredom. If this couple or union were to work out over a longer term, a prescription for them would be for peace and the quiet serene ambience of a cabin by the lake. Being them would arouse such daily energy as to cause a great seeking for calm. Scorpio would be mastering the Taurean exterior cool. Taurus would be mastering the Scorpion intense knowing. These things would demand a great pacification.

Keep Up The Interest Graph: If Scorpio was deeply involved with the Taurus, the Scorpio would be inclined to give of themselves in a thorough, complete and imaginative way. Scorpio is intense. Intensity can be tedious and thus eventually be uninteresting, but in general, intensity tends to bring new blood, greater scope of inquiry, and new arterial growth into areas where there used to be no blood. Taurus, knowing that the essence of life comes from the circulating flow of juices and the manifestly carnal, would most always have an appreciation for what Scorpio would bring to the relationship. The responsiveness thus generated would probably be interesting enough.

Seven Year Itchiness: There are some signs that by their nature are more stable in their love interests and family concerns as time goes on. Others are not. These two, if they had real compatibility problems would probably be opting out of the relationship earlier than a 7 year period. Neither would wait for the 7 years, they would trundle out, or explode out, after a sudden or protracted struggle with the relationship. If they did make it to the 7th year, they would probably have many issues resolved by then, and thus would be under the category of a “happy” union. Neither would be frivolous, but either would be able to act if unhappy.

RATING: ASTROCOMPATIBILITY POSSIBILITY RATING: 50% Positive Long Term - 50% Short Term. Scorpio and Taurus could enjoy each other initially. Just the dynamics, if they did not end up liking each other could work for a time. No one would say this is an easy or enchanting match. The odds are long, but if the couple were extremely committed to the union and their own growth, it could work.
