"Attacking Our fears With The Word Of God"

Updated on August 13, 2012

"Attacking Our Fears with The Word Of God"

As a young child we grow up with all kinds imaginative fears, and if we don't destroy fears hold on us; it will literary control our lives. There at least fifty verses on fear in the bible, but one of my favorite verses to us is there's nothing to fear but fear itself. Fear is a small, four letter word that has a gigantic hold on the people of this world. Fear is an anxiety or a dread that lurks in the back ground of our minds, and it holds us at bay. Sometimes, when we attempt to achieve a goal or get ourselves back on the right tracks of life, fears is the catalyst that keep us from progressing forward.

Fear is an invisible monster that we all invent at one time or another, that frighten us so bad that we don't have the courage to move. Matthews 10 -28: Says and fear not them which kills the body, but not able to kill the soul, but rather, fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell; this scripture here, tell us, if it's not, God then we have nothing to fear and we are safe from every other kind of fear there is. Most of our fears are 98% unfounded most of the times. Our fears hang over our heads like the sword of Damoclees, just waiting to fall on us and put us out of our misery.

We all should first pray about the fears that is destroying our lives, then attack it with Brute force because it's an adversary that keeps us running and cringing in the dark. Psalms 23-4: says, Yea though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil; for thou are with me, thou rod thou staff they comfort me. This a great verse to be reminded of, there is nothing to fear because Gods is with us even though we don't see him; he's there through it all. Just remember when we are in the jaws of fear, don't just stand there and take it, pick up your King James version of the bible and find the scriptures on fear and do some meditating on the his words and cancel out the fear that haunting you and controlling your life.

Once we understand that fear is a destroyer, an antagonizer, a determent, a procrastinator, a hindrance, a negative, a stumbling block, and a illusion of our mind, then we will understand that fear is only what we allow it to be in our minds and nothing else. It will disappear as soon as we dismiss it form out thoughts. We will learn how to control it and once and for all, destroy it by the almighty word of God; all we have to remember and repeat, is "Fear no evil, for I am with you."

That's one of the ememy's majors "fear" false evidence appearing real. It is a facade that we put our faith in unwittingly at times. It is the anthesis of faith in God. Thanks for attacking a giant and pulling down its strongholds.

This hub put me in mind of Elijah who was so frightened by Jezebel's threatening words that he flees to Sinai. He was a sinner like us and even though he had just experienced a great triumph on Mount Carmel, when faced with another serious situation, he reacts in unbelief and fear. Why? I think it was because he made the same egregious errors many of us make: 1) He looked at his circumstance and his own resources instead of looking to God. As long as we look to ourselves and keep our focus on our situation, we will succumb to our fears and increase misery in our own lives, 2) He did not pray. He did not "Attack His Fears with The Word of God."

Thank you beloved of Christ, for accentuating in this edifying hub, the absolute necessity for staying in the Word of God, keeping our focus on God and depending on His power to combat our fears.

      Love and hugs,

Speak the truth and shame the devil. You have truly spoken the truth. I've spent over half of my fifty plus years in fear I'll not waste the rest of the years I have left compromising my abilities with "if I coulda, If i shoulda". Life is too short, your words hit a nerve.

Amazing to find this great Hub.

I was just commenting on another one about the fact that I have allowed the "spirit of fear" to cause me failures at times in fulfilling God's will for my life. Mostly fear of failure. Thank God for his precious spirit of "power, love and of a sound mind"! It's up to us to allow him control so that his perfect love can cast out those fears!
