Being Revealed

Updated on September 10, 2009

Our Source

2 Corinthians 4:8-11

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.

We go through alot of stuff when we are walking with the Lord. The above passage says it all, that we are hard pressed but not crushed. That is so awesome when we go through storms we may be struck down, but not destroyed. God is so good, all the time, because He is our Savior we can look at his life and see how He kept control in all that was going on in his life as he walked this world of pain and sorrow.

We will be given over to death for Jesus' sake, this means his life can be revealed in our mortal body. This means that if we stand even through these storms He will be revealed in us.

Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

We must remember the words above, we must Rejoice no matter what. Let's be gentle and not anxious but let's pray about everything,God is good all the time and He will never forsake us, at times we may think He has but this is when we need to focus on Him

Rejoice, be gentle, not anxious and: pray. You are on the right track, kid. Stay on it.

Going through is so true!! It is a good reminder that God brings us through...just like he brought Israel through the red sea. We walk by faith while the water is piled high on both sides. A blessing as always Betty.

This hub reminds me of a song that has those words in it. It is from The Great Commission.

Hello Betty... I completely agree with your message today, but rejoicing in hardships is a difficult thing to do when you are actually going through them isn't it. And I think our friend above is sooo right.. we go 'through' these hardships.. think of Paul who went 'through' many hardships including those when he could have well thought that God had abandoned him, like his shipwrecks and imprisonments.. but God was working things out for his good and his blessing in the end. And I know you have been through many hardships Betty, more than most in fact, but you are coming through with God's help and guidance, and His providence. God bless you my dear friend...hugs, Alf

You are so right! The key word is go "through" He will not let you stay there. It is only for a season. The closer we get to His LIGHT the hotter it gets sometimes!

Be ENCOURAGED! Yes, "REJOICE no matter what" I say PRAISE GOD through it... "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear No evil..."

May the Lord make His face shine upon you and give you PEACE!
