Well, God takes you seriously and He thinks that you can do lots of important things. In fact, He has things for you to do that nobody else can do - at least not as well as you can.

Come take a look.

Bible Verses for Youth

  • Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

    1 Timothy 4:12

  • David said to Saul, "Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him."

Saul replied, "You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth."

But David said to Saul, "Your servant has been keeping his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine."

Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you."

1 Samuel 17:32-37. This is from the story where David killed Goliath, the Giant, though all of the adults were afraid to try.

  • Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come

    Ecclesiastes 12:1a

  • Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.

Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God

    1 Timothy 5:1-4

  • Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.

    Proverbs 1:8-9

Two missionaries were in the field. As was their custom, they met for dinner to discuss how their days had gone.

The first missionary started: "I had a great day, today. I saw two lives newly dedicated to the service of God!"

The second missionary answered: "Praise the Lord, that is a great day. Today I saw two and a half lives dedicated to the service of God."

The first missionary wondered silently for a moment - how can there be two and a half lives?

"Oh, I get it. Two and a half means two adults and one child, because that child is too little to do anything - right?"

The second missionary responded: "No, you have it all wrong. Two and a half lives means two children and one adult. That adult's life is already half used up."

Bible Verses for Youth

  • For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

    Jeremiah 29:11

  • And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the LORD and with people.

    1 Samuel 2:26

  • The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel's words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the LORD.

    1 Samuel 3:19

  • But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am too young.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD.

    Jeremiah 1:7-8

  • Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother" - which is the first commandment with a promise - "so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

    Ephesians 6:1-3

  • My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them.

    Proverbs 1:10

  • When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.

    1 Corinthians 13:11

Bible Verses for Youth

  • My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them.

If they say, "Come along with us; let's lie in wait for innocent blood, let's ambush some harmless soul; let's swallow them alive, like the grave,

and whole, like those who go down to the pit; we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder; cast lots with us; we will all share the loot" - my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths; for their feet rush into evil, they are swift to shed blood.

How useless to spread a net where every bird can see it!

These men lie in wait for their own blood; they ambush only themselves!Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the life of those who get it.

    2 Kings 22:1-2a

  • For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do-living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you. But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

    1 Peter 4:3-5

  • Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.

    Songs of Solomon 8:4

Good verses here! I think it is so important to encourage teens today to be faithful in their walk with Christ. There is so much to pull them away. I am featuring this lens in my featured lens list on my Seeking Him lense.

I've always loved 1 Timothy 4:12 and think it applies not only to those younger in age but those young in faith.......Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the thoughts of men what God has laid up for them who truly love Him and are called according to His purpose....that's not an exact quote but gets to the heart of the matter. Thank you for being a strong encouragement to out youth!
