Blessed is the man with a good wife .... I should know... I certainly have one.
An incredible wife makes for an incredible life!
I am so very blessed to have such a joyful, loving and wonderful wife. I have been reminded of this gift many, many times. I have promised God to never take it for granted so I certainly will not. God has given me the ultimate blessing. My wife's name is Dana ... I know Damian and Dana ( go figure). She is the apple of my eye in every possible way. Sometimes I have to pinch myself just to realize that this is not just a dream come true. That this blessing is for real and forever. I often have to ask myself how blessed can one person be? The very best part of our relationship is that Christ is at the center of it. About two years ago, we were baptized together in the Gulf of Mexico by our pastor, ( Pastor Bill ). He is an incredible man of God who is the real deal in every sense. He feeds us the scripture and he takes great care of the flock. He is also blessed with a wonderful wife and son who seem to be and are just as spiritual as he is. It was not the first time I was baptized but it was the first time Dana and I did this together. It was truly very special and something we will cherish together for the rest of our lives. It is something that we shared and has brought us even closer. God is so very, very good.
My Dana is a nurse and it has been clear to me on several occasions why our Lord made her a nurse. Several months back as we were greeting at the church entrance ( we greet one Sunday a month ), an elderly lady was coming up the sidewalk and was really struggling to walk. Before I could even utter a word, off Dana went to her aid and assisted her up to the church entrance. All I could do was sit by and watch my Dana take care of this person. It is something that I will never forget as long as I live. When I got home that day, I walked into our bedroom alone and I began to sob. These were not tears of sadness but rather tears of joy for God giving me such a loving and wonderful wife. It has taken me many years to understand that God has made me merely as a helper. It has humbled me greatly. It is all that I am and it is really all that I aspire to be. I can only hope to be pleasing to God in any way. I want to serve Him in any way that I can. My hope would be to be pleasing to Him in all ways but I have much work to do. I am completely blessed to have Dana. She is beautiful outside but her real beauty is on the inside. I am amazed at how she is able to give of herself. She is a true caregiver in every sense. Our Lord has given us the ultimate example of how to treat our fellow man. While I will certainly and do certainly fall well short of that I at the very least have to try to be who He wants me to be. Once again it is a completely and thoroughly humbling experience. So when you go to say your prayers thank Him for everything He gives us. It is all from Him. Lastly, when you look at your wife, thank Him for her and try your best to treat her like Christ treated the church. That is what we are supposed to be and it will make you a better man. A wonderful wife leads to a wonderful life. Consider these verses:
Zechariah 2: 8 This is what God Almighty says: “After those who honored me, sent me against the nations that have plundered you, — whoever touches you — touches the apple of my eye.”
Proverbs 18:22 Whoso finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the Lord.
Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper for him.
Proverbs 12:4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband.
Proverbs 19:14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the Lord.
God bless always.
Dana's birthday is Saturday. Happy birthday to my incredible wife.
