Blessings from the Cross Event

Updated on July 4, 2016

There are various struggles mankind is facing without a solution in sight. Money problems, sickness, suicide, death, heartbreak, curse, accident, marriage problems, depression, fear...Oh, you could keep adding to the list!

Why is that?

The reason is man’s sin which brought a curse on planet earth. Genesis says that ever since Adam’s sin, the earth and mankind have been under a curse.

Curse came due to sin.

Genesis 3:17 - “Cursed is the ground for thy sake;...” The sign of the curse is thorns. For this reason, after Adam’s sin, the earth brought forth thorns.

When God made our first parents they were good beings without the evil nature. God placed them in the heaven type of Paradise which had the meaning of heaven. As heaven is, so was the Garden of Eden with only one difference.

What was the only difference between the Garden of Eden and Heaven?

Here on planet earth, Satan can tempt people but not the people in heaven. This means that the Garden of Eden was a good place without any evil. When Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, they became evil and could not stay in the place of good, i.e. the Garden of Eden.

Satan, as an evil being, also had to leave the Garden of Eden, and he was the first one to leave (Genesis 3:14-15). When Satan left the Garden of Eden, he became the prince or ruler of the air or atmosphere and of planet earth.

Stars and Planets

Many blame the stars, the planets, their birth, etc. for their failure or reward them for their success. Stars were not created to give mankind advice. The Bible states that the stars, along with the sun and the moon, were created to give light to the earth. Some do various rituals to come out of a curse.

First, let me speak of sin and its consequences and then share the good news of the gospel of the crucifixion event. The first fact which the Bible states is that all are sinners and our sin takes us to hell. This is true. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that all have sinned.

Romans 3:10 says, “There is none righteous.”
Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death.”

Before some say that sin is not the issue with God, I wish now to point out the biggest lie in the world. Do you know what it is? Read 1 John 1.8: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves.”

This important verse tells us the biggest lie uttered by men. As a matter of fact, we tell lies to deceive others. But who is desirous of lying to deceive himself? It appears alright for us to deceive other people because it is they who are victimized, but who would wish to victimize themselves? That is quite another matter. Nevertheless, untold number of people deceive themselves without even knowing it.

Whoever says he has not sinned, the Bible informs us that he deceives himself. This is the biggest lie we mortals ever tell. Those who tell other lies may be forgiven and saved through the Lord Jesus, but whoever lies by stating that he has not sinned is destined for hell. For in such lies, he rejects the salvation of God and refuses to allow the grace of the Lord Jesus to come upon him. He makes himself unredeemable.

Living under 'The New Covenant'

How does God deal with this problem?

God’s eternal provision is the Cross. The Cross of Christ is the center of the universe, center of mankind and very important for mankind. Sin, curse, Satan were all dealt with on the Cross.

God has kept the Cross of Christ as the center of the universe. Look at Jesus dying on the Cross, and God put the two thieves – one to His right side and one to His left side indicating that the Cross is the center of mankind. He placed the whole world’s sin and its consequences on Jesus Christ who became the ultimate one true sacrifice to solve all mankind’s problems forever.

One thief believed and was saved while the other did not and was separated from God forever. The only reason he was separated from God was not because he was a sinner but because he chose to reject the offer of the Cross.

That is why you must know the crucifixion, resurrection and ascension events because the overall success of mankind depends on fully understanding what happened at the Cross! God’s answer to all mankind’s problems now and for eternity is the Cross of Christ. If Satan has to hide something or hate something, it is the Cross.

That is the why the Bible calls him the Antichrist and they work day and night to hide the solution or provision of God for mankind.

The gospel is the good news which is the grace of our Father and the power of God to save you. This is the gift of our Father which He wants to give anyone who believes Jesus as their Savior and Lord.

The crucifixion event brought the grace of our Father

For in Acts 20:24, Gospel is called the grace of God and in Romans 1:16, it is the power of God to save us. There are many things that happened at the Cross where Jesus died for us. Two very significant passages are Galatians 3:13 and Colossians 2:14-15.

First : Galatians 3:13 - “Christ has redeemed us from THE CURSE of the law so that the blessing of Abraham might come to the nations in Him.”

Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse by He Himself becoming a curse for us. The curses included doom and destruction in every area of our life, from poverty and lack to sickness and incurable diseases. Once you know that Christ has reversed the curse into a blessing, the curse will lose its power to operate in your life. Then you can get to the point where everything can go right in your life. When Jesus went to the Cross, He nailed these curses to it! He redeemed you. He bought you back from the bondage of the curse. He paid in full for every punishment, problem and curse that should have fallen on you and me. Curse came due to sin.

Genesis 3:17 - “Cursed is the ground for thy sake” The sign of the curse is thorns. For this reason, after Adam’s sin, the earth brought forth thorns.

Since thorns are a sign of the curse, Christ wearing the crown of thorns indicates that He took our curse on the Cross and redeemed us out of the curse. Because the problem of sin has been solved, the problem of the curse has been solved as well.

Colossians 2:14 says, “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.”

The legal document pronounced us as sinners and under the bondage of Satan. But praise God that He nailed this legal document on the Cross and set us free.

Second : Stripping off the evil angels and their authorities: Colossians 2:15 - “[And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

When God was laboring to accomplish redemption for mankind through Christ bearing the sin and its punishment on the Cross. God was working to judge sin and nail the law to the Cross forever. Satan and his evil angels were busy in the attempt to frustrate the work of God and Christ.

But at that very juncture, God stripped them off, triumphed over them, and made an open show of them (Colossians 2:15).

He put them to an open shame. God openly shamed the evil angelic rulers and authorities on the Cross and triumphed over them in the Cross. At the time of Christ’s crucifixion, God stripped off and put off the rulers and authorities.

Every battle that we will ever face in life has already been won for us by Jesus Christ. Every single situation we will ever come up against and every circumstance we will ever face in life, Jesus Christ has already faced them on our behalf and for us (Hebrews 4:14-16); and, besides that He fought that battle for us and TRIUMPHED VICTORIOUSLY. He fought that battle and WON!

The devil has been defeated! Sin and its power over you have been destroyed! Stop fighting the devil. RESIST HIM and he will flee from you!

Is Satan a factor in your life?

See results

The battle is over!

When Jesus released the words “It is finished” just before He died on the Cross, He declared and audibly decreed that everything that was necessary to RESTORE US BACK TO OUR ORIGINAL PLACE IN GOD had been purchased by Him and was now settled - finished! Jesus decreed that, “It is finished;” so beloved, IT IS FINISHED, period, settled, over!

Our primary enemy and the world’s are the devil and all the host of hell. Everything that is in direct opposition to the blessings of God is from the devil. The devil is the source of all the turmoil, heartache, lack, poverty, sickness, disease, sin, etc. that you will face in life.

The scripture makes this quite clear, “The thief (the devil) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” (KJV John 10:10) That was and still is the devil's number one priority for his attack against mankind - to steal from us in every area of our life, to kill anything and everything that has the life of God in it and to destroy and bring destruction at every opportunity.

Glory be to God that He sent Jesus Christ! Jesus came to do the EXACT OPPOSITE - “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (KJV John 10:10)

Nowhere the Bible tells us we are to battle or fight the devil or sin. The Bible clearly and boldly tells us to RESIST THE DEVIL (James 4:7) and to FLEE FROM SIN (II Timothy 2:22).

Truth is linked to freedom

Jesus made it quite clear that TRUTH WAS OUR LINK TO FREEDOM - “And ye shall KNOW THE TRUTH, and THE TRUTH [that you know] shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

We who have the life of Christ don't have to keep fighting him, THE BATTLE HAS ALREADY BEEN WON. We, as God’s ambassadors, must enforce Satan’s defeat. In other words, we must constantly remind him that he is a defeated foe. We must remind him that he was defeated at the Cross by Jesus Christ the Son of God Himself. We must enforce Satan’s defeat.

Why did God redeem mankind?

God’s intention is not just to make you a good person. It is to make you His son. Ephesians 1:5 says that God has predestined us to sonship. God’s intention is to make us sons.

In Galatians 4:5 Paul clearly says that Christ has redeemed us that we might receive the sonship.

Verse 6 says, “And because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father!” The Spirit of God’s Son is the reality of sonship. First, God sent His Son to be our Redeemer, then God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts.
