Building Faith Through Christ
Crucified With Christ
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” Galatians 2:20
I think this is a beautiful passage and one that we need to stand by. I find that when I read this passage it is like accepting Christ all over again. I think what Paul was saying in this was what he had experienced with his own conversion as he stated “I have been crucified with Christ”, similar to anyone who has come to know Christ as their savior. In Romans 6:6 “knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin” another example of finding Christ, through Him we are washed of our sins by his blood. This is done by baptism of the Holy Spirit as well as water baptism. As in the verses before this in Romans 6:4 “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” We had to die to our sins as Christ died, going into the water is symbolic to his dying on the cross and as we are under the water it is symbolic of his death and as we come out of the water it is symbolic to his resurrection!! We cannot continue to live the ways that we had in the past we are dead to all of our old sins and our old life we become a new creation in Christ and must remember to walk righteously on His path and as close as we can to His ways. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
Christ Lives In Me
“It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” This is our commitment that we made to live for the Lord, to follow His ways and preach the Gospel to the world. We have to surrender ourselves and hand our lives over to God because we entrust in Him that he has control over all situations in our lives because we cannot do it ourselves. We have all learned that in the past as everyone has a story and has found Christ because of the sinful lives we were all once living. I admit that I lived a horrible life before I found Christ and I am happy that I found Him because if I hadn’t I probably wouldn’t be where I am today. We make this choice when we learn to obey the Gospel and allow for Christ to live in us, having His word inside of us, to be totally and completely committed to Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us on our daily walk and to give us the words to speak when we need it. What we need to do as Christians is to remember the teachings of Christ, the words of God within the Bible and follow the examples that were graciously given to us. We have to do this in order to stay on the right path and if we fall down know that God is there to pick us back up because He knows that we stumble, we fall, and we cannot be perfect but it is His unconditional love for us that picks us up so that we can keep moving towards Him.
I Live By Faith In The Son of God
”and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” A life with Christ is purposely lived, it is a commitment that we make for ourselves it is nothing that another can choose for us. It cannot be forced, it cannot be taken away, and it is ultimately our decision and only ours. It is by great faith that we live for the Lord, the love that we have for Him because He loved us first and never left our side as He waited for us to come to Him. When we fail to live this it is because of our lack of faith, we need to receive that faith from God and take it in abundance, I pray for all to receive a greater expanse of faith within themselves. We have to keep our faith strong, stand firm in our ways, and keep the enemy from trying to break down our faith because it is Christ we are keeping our faith for and without Him we cannot make it. The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17) and the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven produces our faith in which few walk in. We as Christians must stand firm and not reject any of the words from God or Christ, “Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus” 2 Timothy 1:13 We as Christians know that living by faith will help keep us on the path to Heaven.
“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” 2 Timothy 4:6-8 I know I will be ready as my love will continually grow for the Lord. I myself did not have such an easy time getting to know Him, I was at near death before I started to realize that He could have let me die, and He could have said that’s it. Instead He let me live because He knew that He had greater plans for me, He knew I would come to know Christ as my savior and that I would live through Christ to make it to the place I was meant to spend my eternal life in. I am forever grateful for all that God has done for me in my life not matter how many times I may have rejected His help or gone down the opposite path out of stubbornness, every time I fell He picked me up, He never left my side. He has such unconditional love for all of us that is the greatest gift anyone could ever receive, that is real love.
He Has Restored My Life Again
After I got saved and came to know Christ it was an immediate change in my life and I cannot explain it but something happened and ever since I have had nothing but Him on my mind every day, I love to pray and listen, I love to talk to Him and I love waiting on Him to respond to me. Every day I go out into the world I look around and see His beauty that He has created for our viewing, our pleasure to enjoy while we are here. He is such an amazing God and I bow to Him, and thank Him every day for everything that He has done, is doing and will do in the future. I Love God. I wrote a “thank you” letter to God after I was saved using His words and combining them into a very meaningful scripture arrangement. I would like to share with you:
Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up, Lord (Psalm 71:20) because You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand (Psalm 16:11) and I will go out with joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills will burst into song before me (Isaiah 55:12) In my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever (Psalm 41:12) May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise (Psalm 119:76) Surely I have found God as my salvation and I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. (Isaiah 12:2) Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23:6)
