The CELESTIAL ORDER of the UNIVERSE - (Part 2) - The Lordships - Mighty Angels & Authorities
The SECOND CHOIR and GOVERNORS of HEAVEN
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. . .
...and comes down from the Father of lights [ angels ], with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. (James 1:17-18 NKJ)
"Moreover, every divine procession of radiance from the Father, while constantly bounteously flowing to us, fills us anew as though with a unifying power, by recalling us to things above, and leading us to the unity of the Shepherding Father and to the Divine One. For from Him and into Him are all things, as is written in the holy Word."
(Dionysius the Areopagite)
In scripture we are presented with another world, a world of the Spirit. It is world that exists beyond our normal physical senses. It is an invisible world, one which includes angels, both good and evil. For the believer, what we know about this spiritual world is limited to what scripture tells us. These celestial beings engage with humanity all the time. Those that serve God are set to aid the Lord's people in advancing His Kingdom. In contrast, the "Fallen Angels" who oppose God’s will, are kept constantly at work trying to hinder the coming Kingdom of God.
Most of modern science pays little notice to anything that exists in the spiritual realm. This is primarily because the scientific method limits scientific investigation to the physical world. The prevailing secular scientific world view today is that of naturalism and science, not that of a spiritual nature and thus its tendency to deny the existence of the spiritual realm altogether. This is merely another method by which the adversary to God promotes the lie that "God does not exist", or at a minimum, does not have any bearing concerning our material affaris. This is because Naturalism states that: "Only the physical world is relevant. God if He exists at all, plays no role in the day by day running of the universe." Many people likewise say that the material world is all there is and that "spiritual truth" either does not exist or has no relevance to the world of science. We believers in the majesty of the Lord God are fortunate to know otherwise...
"And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Ephesians 3:9-11 KJV)
The views of the unbelieving secular world are of course radically different in comparison to a Biblical perspective. The physical world is only half of the creation and the invisible half of creation is the more permanent and substantial than the physical world. In fact, without the eternal sustaining power of God, the universe and the very atoms themselves would fly apart and disentegrate. Take that for a moment to reflect upon.
"In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs." (Hebrews 1:1-4 NIV)
All energy, power, and the spirit of life itself, come into the physical world from the invisible spiritual world with God as its source. Just because we do not know how to formulate a specific science or laws to describe this interaction, does not preclude its existence or deny this nature as a vital function of the cosmos.
"It is therefore the duty of God's people to explain this nature and relationship to the rest of the world, because it is these areas of knowledge that depend upon divine revelation and are outside the boundaries of science."
"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:14-16 KJV)
The other fact that scripture clearly declares but which thousands of Christians have failed to see, is that God has designed His creation as a kind of royal government (an absolute monarchy) with the Lord at the top in all His majesty. He has set forth His hierarchy and order of things in the Heavens as the model for which all things should likewise be patterned by in the material universe.
The problem with humankind however has been in finding and establishing proper godly rulers (ones who would listen to God and the prophets). The best example of this is in the King's of Israel. The people of Israel cried out: "Give us a king to judge us" (1 Samuel 8:6), but when their kings could not perform as they should, the Lord would judge them instead. Their lands became either blessed or cursed accordingly (and more often they were cursed for their improper actions).
"Whenever the church has approached the biblical pattern, righteous conditions have begun to prevail. And when it has turned from this divine pattern to rely on secondary forces it has become proud, rich and tyrannical, or worldly, weak and despised by all." (from "Body Life" - by Ray C. Stedman).
This is another reason why is is important to grasp why God has set things up the way He has. We should have some understanding of the basic mechanisms by which Heaven and angels operate and how they are governed by God from the spiritual realm. This gives us a better understanding on how these things have a direct bearing on the material universe we live in.
The following information is STRICTLY FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY and not for the intent or use of delving into spiritism or the supernatural, which we highly recommend against. The purpose of this particular article series is to reflect more on the fact that the INVISIBLE REALM OF THE SPIRIT really does exist; that there are forces constantly at work within this parallel dimension that have a direct bearing on what transpires in the material universe, including but not limited to interacting with human lives and the outcome of mortal events.
The 3 Celestial Hierarchies and the 9 Orders of Angelic Beings
As we started to show in the beginning of this article series, Dionysius' book "The Celestial Hierarchy" along with the Summa Theologica written by Thomas Aquinas, together with comparative studies of the Old and New Testaments and other esoteric Christian teachings, all had a great influence on what was exerted by scholars as they considered and formulated the hierarchies of angels. Their resulting division of the angels into three spheres or "Angelic Choirs", each containing three orders of distinct celestial beings, were based on their proximity to God and the duties or responsibilities assigned to each. Based on this, the descending celestial order and divine rank will be represented and shown in the manner that we have listed:
(CONTINUED: from PART 1 - FIRST SPHERE OF HEAVEN - Attendants to the Throne of God)
Within the Christian angelic hierarchy, there are three total spheres of angels. The first sphere of God's angels or celestial beings, watch over and guard God's seat of power, or his Heavenly Throne. Some scripture even refers to this first sphere as consisting of angelic beings that serve as God's heavenly counselors and judges. It is not thought that the sphere itself is an actual spiritual construct of any kind, it is more of a classification system that was created to distinguish certain ranks of angels from one another and their role in the divine plan of universal operations.
"The last thing for us to explain is the joy attributed to the Celestial Orders. For they are utterly above and beyond our passionate pleasures. But they are said to rejoice with God over the finding of that which was lost, as well befits the Godlike mildness of their nature, and as befits their beneficent and boundless joy at the providential salvation of those who are turned to God, and that ineffable bliss in which holy men have often participated when the illuminations of God have divinely visited them." (Dionysius the Areopagite)
The main reason that the Host of Angels are referred to as in "choirs" in the celestial order, is because that is their primary function and what they are described as primarily doing in Heaven, singing and worshipping to give praise to the Lord God. This is likewise what the original intended purpose for mankind was supposed to be on Earth.
"On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone - while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?" (Job 38:6-7 NIV)
It is evident that this role is being observed by all the members of the Highest Heaven and those angelic hosts that dwell and operate in the closest proximity to the Lord God.
The Glory of God
As described in the first part of this article series, this is the divine energy that eminates from God and His Throne in Heaven. The word "glory", from the Latin "gloria" ("fame" or "renown") is used to refer to the manifestation of God's presence in the Judeo-Christian religious traditions. God's glory is often associated with visible displays of light and energy, including thunderbolts, fire, and extreme brightness. Divine glory is an important component throughout theology, where God is regarded as the most glorious of all beings. Likewise, since we are created in the "image of God", human beings can share or participate in the divine glory as "image-bearers". Like a mirror reflection of God, a person can reflect God's glory (though imperfectly) and thus we are instructed to: "let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
God's Glory is so intense that few creatures can come near it without being completely consumed and most are not even able to gaze directly upon His glory for it's immense brightness. In scripture, when the Lord God manifests His pressence in the material world, we recount scenes like the "buring bush" that spoke with Moses, the "pillar of fire" and the "fiery clouds" of Mount Sinai (Mt. Horeb) or those described in Ezekiel's visions.
With this manifestation of God, things are typically consumed ("disentegrated") by His Glory or are automatically destroyed if not for His intervention.
"So the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp." (Numbers 11:1 NKJ)
For most, it is impossible to even come too close to God's divine energy and pressence.
"Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle." (Exodus 40:34-36 NKJ)
The Seraphim ("burning ones") described in the First Sphere of Heaven are one example of the few elect angelic beings that can even draw near to the radiance of God's Glory. They themselves are so full of God's Glory and so bright as to almost be impossible to gaze upon as well. In fact, most angels are described in terms as either having brightly lit faces or being energetically charged forms that are "shining like the sun" and full of all God's radiance. This is the power and essence that all angels are created with.
The CELESTIAL ORDER and HIERARCHY of the ANGLES (Summary Listing)
*Several other Models for the "Celestial Order" have been proposed but we will be using the following for the purpose of consistency and simplification in this article series. Mainly to note are the "Classes" or "Orders" of Angels, their description, roles and responsibilities are more comparatively uniform in most models.
First Sphere of Heaven (Attendants to the Throne of God):
Seraphim - (Greek: "Saraph")
Cherubim - (Greek: "Kĕruwb")
Ophanim - the "Wheels" or "Galgallin"
+The Thrones - The Elders or "Er'el-im" (Greek: "Thronos")
*This "Angelic Choir" and its Classes are covered more thoroughly in the PART 1 of this Series.
Second Sphere of Heaven (Heavenly Governors):
Dominions - (Greek:"Kyriotetai")
Virtues - also the "Mights" (Greek: "Dynamai")
Powers - (Greek: "Exusiai")
Third Sphere of Heaven (Divine Soldiers and Messengers):
Principalities - (Greek: "Archai")
Archangels - (Greek: "Archangeloi")
Angels - (Greek: "Angeloi")
*This "Angelic Choir" and its Classes are covered more thoroughly in the PART 3 of this Series.
Second Sphere of Heaven (Heavenly Governors):
As we have described, angelic beings are creatures constituted from light and fire, with all the radiance of God's divine energy flowing through them. This is how they are even able to exist within the spheres of Heaven and in close proximity to the immense power and Glory of God.
And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire.” (Hebrews 1:7 NKJ)
We must also consider the representations of Heaven and the celestial beings in connection with flowing rivers of flame, fiery clouds of light, and the mechanisms of the wheels, chariots and the other elements described in the divinty and nature of heavenly things. These things also figuratively denote the inner workings and process of the divine channels of energy which eternaly fills Heaven and nourishes the entire being of the celestial orders.
"And I saw the holy sons of God. They were stepping on flames of fire: Their garments were white [and their raiment], And their faces shone like snow. And I saw two streams of fire, And the light of that fire shone like hyacinth, And I fell on my face before the Lord of Spirits."
(Enoch LXXI: 1-2)
All such manner and form of these things flow downward from the glory of the Throne of God in the Highest Heaven to all the other spheres of Heaven and the angelic host therein. Likewise, the degree of their power, their responsibilities, and their influence on the universe cascades downward through the angelic rankings in a decending order accordingly.
The high ranking members of the Celestial Hierarchy serve God as the administrators and mediaries in all the workings of the lower spheres of Heaven and additionally act as overseers for all affairs in the material universe. They are the direct laison to the chief angels in all their respective spheres of influence and their associated ranks in the angelic orders and classes.
Therefore, the Second Sphere of Heaven (mostly New Testament sources) consists mainly of angelic beings that work as heavenly governors and administrators. They are the head executors of the divine majesty in all universal matters and are charged with the direction or control of the remaining celestial orders of angels.
This group of "greater" angels have been described as divinely beautiful humans with a pair of feathered wings, much like the common representation of angels. They may be distinguished from other angelic beings as wielding orbs of light, or radiantly glowing scepters and swords.
"Then the Angel of the LORD put out the end of the staff that was in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. And the Angel of the LORD departed out of his sight." (Judges 6:21 NKJ)
(Greek: "Kyriotetai") - translated from the Greek term meaning "Lordships". They are presented as the upper executive branch of the hierarchy of celestial beings.
The Dominions are also known in Hebrew as the "Hashmallim". They are in charge of managing the core elements of the universe (light, fire, water, earth, air, etc.) and have the task of regulating the duties for all the other rankings of angels in the celestial order. These angelic beings may also be the "watchers" that are referred to in both traditional Biblical scripture as well as the accompanying apocryphal texts, whereas they observe, monitor and preside over all the affairs of other angelic beings in the Celestial Hierarchy.
"This decision is by the decree of the watchers, And the sentence by the word of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men." (Daniel 4:17 NKJ)
REF: ordinances of the heavens (Job 38:33); there was a watcher, a holy one (Dan 4:13,23); decree of the watchers (Dan 4:17); shall serve and obey Him (Dan 7:27); mighty ones (Psalm 103:20); calls them all by name (Psalm 147); praise Him (Psalm 148); every name that is named (Eph 1:21); all things created, that are in heaven (Col 1:16)
We should recognize that with the spiritual realm, we are dealing with forces that extend far beyond our normal concept of the physical universe. Many of these things may go well beyond our comprehension and are yet to be revealed. As with angels, they do not always disclose their full size and power to us. They can of course manifest themselves in various shapes and forms when they enter our material universe.
The immenseness and grandeur of things that are relative to the spritual world and how they translate into the physical universe can be hard to grasp for many people. It requires a degree of abstract thinking that bends the rules of conventional thinking. For instance, the following verse may emphasize this point:
"David looked up and saw the Angel of the LORD standing between heaven and earth, with a drawn sword in his hand extended over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell facedown." (1 Chronicles 21:16 NIV)
How can any creature or being exist or translate itself into something of such size and proportions? In the material world this would literally crush continents and create catastrophes of a cataclysmic nature. With an omnipresent and omnipotent infinite God however, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. Therefore in the spiritual realm, such a manifestation then becomes probable as it is not bound by the laws of physics as we know them and does not conform itself to the normal universe. This even further reflects their nature and the magnitude of power that such a being wields. In this consideration, it is no wonder why and how these celestial beings are given charge over entire planets or star systems.
Also the "MIGHTS" (Greek: "Dynamai") - The Virtues or "Mights" work under the Ophanim ("Wheels") and are assigned to matters in the universe. Their primary duty is to supervise and manage the movements of the heavenly bodies such as stars and planets, in order to ensure that the cosmos remain in order. It has been said that there as many angels as the stars in the sky (and then some), because each of the stars have an angel assigned to them as their guardian and source of divine energy.
REF: (Mights) every name that is named (Eph 1:21); excel in strength-"mighty ones" (Psalm 103:20); calls them all by name (Psalm 147:4); all praise Him (Psalm 148:3)
"He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite." (Psalm 147:4-5 NKJ)
Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars." (Psalm 148:1-3 NKJV)
The term "Mights" (from the Greek) is also translated as "Virtue" (probably due to the powerful nature of these high celestial beings), which is a somewhat different connotation of strength and force than just normal moral virtue. Thus they are presented as the angelic choir of "Virtues", in the Summa Theologica and as also referred to in the Celestial Hierarchy:
"The name of the holy Virtues signifies a certain powerful and unshakable virility welling forth into all their Godlike energies; not being weak and feeble for any reception of the divine Illuminations granted to it; mounting upwards in fullness of power to an assimilation with God; never falling away from the Divine Life through its own weakness, but ascending unwaveringly to the superessential Virtue which is the Source of virtue: fashioning itself, as far as it may, in virtue; perfectly turned towards the Source of virtue, and flowing forth providentially to those below it, abundantly filling them with virtue." (Dionysius the Areopagite)
"The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. Praise the LORD, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will." (Psalm 103:19-21 NIV)
Also the "Authorities" (Greek: "Exusiai") - are in charge of managing the various aspects of the elemental nature of the planets themselves (fire, water, earth, air). This order of celestial beings also corresponds with the four guardian or protector spirits that are the rulers of the four parts of the earth in the Babylonian mythology ("Die Cosmologie der Babylonier" p.169 - P. Jensen), which similar angels are likewise mentioned in scripture:
"And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree."
(Revelation 7:1 KJV)
These celestial beings also appear to collaborate, in both power and authority with the Principalities ("Rulers") of the next lower Sphere of Heaven. The Powers are the bearers of conscience and the keepers of history. They are also the warrior angels created to be completely loyal to God. Their duty is to oversee the distribution of power amongst humankind, and hence their name.
"...far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come." (Ephesians 1:21 NKJ)
REF: excel in strength (Psalm 103:20); every name that is named (Eph 1:21); powers in heavenly places (Eph 3:10); wrestle not against flesh and blood (Eph 6:12); all things created, that are in heaven (Col 1:16); authorities and powers (1Peter 3:22); four angels (Rev 7:1)
"Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him." (1 Peter 3:22 KJV)
The MYTHOLOGY of ANCIENT CULTURES and PAGANISM
Keep in mind that when the "Great Dragon the Devil" (Satan) lost the war in Heaven, that one third of the angels had rebelled with him and were likewise sent away from the Glory of God. Therefore, this would have probably included some of the different classes of high ranking angels from the celestial orders that we have been discussing so far. It also means this would have included a huge multitude of warrior angels from the ranks of the Angelic Host.
Just look back at the definition of these angelic beings along with their powers, spheres of influence, and the descriptions that are listed. Then imagine these celestial creatures as losing the light and sanction of God and being transformed into the "fallen angels" who were then cursed for their rebellion and sin.
In this celestial war, these beings were not permanently destroyed either. The outcome was that they were simply banished from Heaven and the sight of God, but they all had to go somewhere. That place was the material universe and the world.
"So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
(Revelation 12:9 NKJ)
It is believed that at first, these angels were given certain domain over the material universe and still performed functions that were relative to the administration of God's will. When human beings were introduced into the creation however, all things would begin to change. Since the angels were aware of the Lord God's intended purpose for the future of humanity (to be set above the angels as their masters), those that had rebelled (led by Satan) then became bent on a new subversive mission in opposition to the plans of God.
"For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:"
(Hebrews 2:5-7 KJV)
We may speculate on what has already been discussed about the nature and elements of the Celestial Hierarchy so far. There are numerous mythologies from all of the world's various cultures that were passed on from the oral traditions of their ancestors, well before the written language was even established to more accuratley record our historical events. These stories or "myths" have an amazing similarity with not only each other, but also with many of the ancient records that scripture is based upon. Many archaeologists and members of the secular scientific mainstream are approaching things a bit backwards.
"They should be using their research and evidence to bring forth revelation and to confirm what is recorded in the Word of God, using it as the foundation of all things and the cornerstone; not use the same as a tool of controversial disproof and merely write these things off as fantasy or fables."
For example the "catastrophic flood theory" is found not only in the Holy Bible (as in the story of "Noah's Ark"), but also in the tales of man's creation from the Ancient Greeks (Ogyges and Deucalion), the "Epic of Gilgamesh" derived from ancient Babylon and Sumeria, as well as being found in related narratives from the far east and other parts of the world, all of which pre-date many of the traditional Biblical sources. (SEE: "Flood Myths" - Wikipedia )
All mythologies have some basis in fact from the original oral traditions that they were derived from. People simply did not exert a large effort in creating fictional stories like what is popular today simply for entertainment. They recorded what they learned and knew about the world with a purpose. It is when you look at the these stories from a Biblical perspective in relation to the one true God and His history with the angels (including the dawn of mankind) that these things begin to shed a different light on the topic.
After being expelled from paradise, humans were left to fend for themselves in a harsh new world that had already been populated beforehand by great celestial beings. In the early pre-diluvian days of the world (before the "Great Flood"), the Earth was run rampant with corrupt spiritual forces (many of which still exist today).
"Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." (Genesis 6:5 NKJ)
The pagan polytheistic belief systems that sprang forth in the ancient world were spawned by the newly developing civilizations. As they became further removed from the compassion and knowledge of the one true God, false gods and their idols began to be worshiped.
"For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty." (2 Peter 1:16 NKJ)
Let us briefly look at these following comparisons:
- The "Titans" of Greek mythology or the "Old Ones" from the "primordial age" (the "dawn of time"), seem very similar in form to some of the "greater" angelic beings of immense size and power that we have mentioned above. "Atlas" for example, kept the entire world in its celestial orbit (a celestial Dominion or Power?). Other "second generation" Titans were described as gigantic beings that could stand on an entire land mass (Could these be "fallen angels" that were formerly of the Second Sphere in the Celestial Hierarchy?).
- In many mythologies, a celestial war is mentioned as having occurred, whereas the "old gods" were overthrown and replaced by the "new gods", which then became ever popular in their polytheistic beliefs *(they were already starting to manipulate the Word of God and the true history of Heaven into a facsimile tale full of cleverly orchestrated lies).
- Many of the represented deities from the ancient world have bourne a stricking resemblance to the more unusual looking angels and members of the Celestial Hierarchy. There were many Egyptian "gods" for example that were described as winged humans, but having the heads and features of other animals (similar to the Cherubim?).
In ancient Babylon (where the Israelites were in exhile) and in Persia, there were sacred creatures who guarded the pagan temples and city gates (the Šêdu or Lammasu) that were winged bulls or lions with the head and faces of men (somewhat resembling the Seraphim or Cherubim), and the infamous Sphinx likewise has similar attributes.
- There were also the early heroes of legend that were supposedly sired by the gods - such as Perseus and Hercules, who fought gigantic beings and slaughtered great beasts.
"There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." (Genesis 6:4 NKJ)
These are just a few examples and the list goes on...
Based on the brief representations alone that we have shown above, it is no far stretch of the mind to see that these beings were merely the "fallen angels" who were already dwelling in the world before the arrival of human beings. They then proceeded to deceive our ancestors and portray themselves as powerful beings and "gods". They taught humankind arts and sciences of the "divine mystery" that we were too immature in spirit to even handle, while in the process they corrupted the very creation that God had intended for us. Once the lust for power and desire for control took hold of our world, everything progressively spiraled downward from there. A note to all, and to put it quite simply, is that these beings were just "angels" that encouraged humans to call on them by name and worship them. It is no small wonder that the Lord God finally sent His wrath into the world when He did - and will likewise (in the near future) return with His judgment.
"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be [return of Christ the Messiah]." (Matthew 24:36-37 NKJ)
This is exactly where we are today in our modern society, just like in the "days of Noah". The world has walked far from the knowledge and grace of God. It embraces a "polytheism" centered around the worship of power, money, and other self-serving idolatrous attitudes. It glorifys itself in the elevation of science and the manipulation of natural physical laws. It has a new "mythology" based in technology and science fiction illusions while searching to commune with intelligent life "elsewhere". There has been a departure from the Holy Spirit to a "oneness" and re-connection with our "inner spirit" through metaphysics and mysticism. The same "angels" that deceived and corrupted our ancestors, are still here today misleading the minds of our children. This is now the time, where the rest of us must step in and sound the trumpets of a "wake up call" for all the rest of the world to take notice.
Edmund Burke (1729-1797) originally stated:
"Those who do not know history are destined to repeat it."
Therefore... "If we do not know our Spiritual History, we are likewise destined to repeat it."

*Final NOTE Regarding Angels
"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." (Hebrews 13:2)
The angelic beings were created to serve ONLY God. They likewise were not created to prompt servitude from mankind but instead are ordained to service mankind by way of following God's will for us in the universe. We ARE NOT TO WORSHIP OR CALL ON ANGELS BY NAME and they are not to encourage us to do the same either.
"For by him [ God ] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:" (Colossians 1:16 KJV)
"These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the WORSHIP OF ANGELS disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow." (Colossians 2:17-19 NIV)
"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world."
(1 John 4:1-3 NIV)

SEPARATING TRUTH FROM FICTION - by Dr. Ron Rhodes Th.D - If you want to know about angels, the author debunks myth after myth, like for example: the myth that Jesus is the Archangel Michael (useful regarding the Jehovah's Witnesses claim to the contrary). He also describes the varying degrees of depravity and wickedness among fallen angels. Ron Rhodes is a Doctorate of Theology and he uses a highly detailed reliance on scripture and cites many other sources to put things in context, while remaining true to the Bible when he quotes the church forefathers or contemporary experts. He includes just enough modern day angel encounters to keep things interesting and is especially good at quoting modern day New Age "experts" who would have you "contact your angel", which he masterfully debunks their myths and beliefs with great clarity.
- by Dr. David Jeremiah - As humans, we are naturally fascinated with spiritual things. Angels are no exception. Dr. Jeremiah's book takes you on a guided tour about what scripture says about angels. Angels are everywhere today in the secular mainstream: movies, TV shows about guardian angels (find out what the book says), even little figurines in the Christian bookstores. There are also a ridiculous amount of badly written books on this subject that are lacking in theological weight. This book is not one of them. It is excellently written and even covers the questions that cannot be answered. David lays out for you the best hypothesis so that you can decide for yourself and more importantly, he reminds the reader that we should pray to God and let Him answer these things for us with whatever means He chooses.
- by Joseph B. Lumpkin - This book is the combined knowledge of Enoch, Jasher, Jubilees, The War Scrolls, the Bible, and other ancient writings brought into one strong narrative. The author begins with some very powerful statements that draw the reader in. The history of evil is laid bare in the words of these ancient texts being put together into a storyline, starting from the creation and ending with the destruction of all evil. It constructs the history of Fallen Angels, The Watchers, The Naphilim, and evil itself. The author then caps off the texts with some closing lines that really make you think. "Whether we are angel, watcher, nephilim, or man, evil is a choice many give themselves over to, fully and completely... Evil walked the earth when angels fell. Evil stalks us now in disembodied spirits. Evil also lives inside of the common man; set free when pride kills reason and eats integrity whole. It is free will that convicts us. The problem of choice allows us to either ascend to heaven or plummet to hell.
- by Billy Graham - A truly a wonderful and amazing book that is like attending a crusade event in person. The reader will find the author compassionately pleading for unbelievers to believe, for believers to come to the fullness promised to them as children of God, and for those needing clarity on this important subject to hit THE BOOK and discover through the Holy Spirit what they need. The book is simplistic and very easy to comprehend. In the introduction Graham says, "Man has two great spiritual needs. One is for forgiveness. The other is for Goodness." He shows how to activate the "revolutionary power" of the Holy Spirit by complete and utter repentance of sin and trust in Christ.
