Can Good come from evil in your life

Trust God to turn good from bad

When the Ishmaelites came by, Joseph's brothers pulled him out of the cistern and sold him to them. Genesis.37:28 New International Version

Do you see the irony in this? The descendants of the son God told Abraham to reject and send away was the very ones who were now going to sell the savior of the twelve tribes of Israel into slavery?

Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. Genesis 21:11 New International Version

Can you think of any experiences like that in your life? Has your family or friends sold you out into the enemies hands?

If so, remember how the story ends? Joseph had something bad done to him (Sold into slavery) so that he would save the very ones doing harm to him. Maybe someone close to you is selling you out to the enemy, but in time it will be revealed that God uses this experience for you to save them later.

“God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing” (Ecclesiastes 12:14).

Prayer: Jehovah Immanuel (God is with us) please help me understand how _____ (write in the name or names of those who have betrayed you) betrayal can be a blessing and good can come from this. Please do not let me be bitter, angry or unforgiving. Please help me have faith that You know what You are doing and that all things work for good to those who trust in You.

In the name of the one who was betrayed by His friend so as to lead Him to the cross Jesus Christ (Judas betrayed Jesus) I pray. Amen

I often wonder how Joseph felt when his brothers sold him into slavery. He really trusted God through his journey. I think it was his enslaved life that made him a stronger person. Thanks for the reminder of how God can use a bad situation and turn it into a stepping stone in our life. Blessings!
