Can We Ever Make a Deal With Elohim?
Can you ever make a deal with Elohim?
Chances are, and take me for example, you have tried to “bribe” or “promise” Elohim you would or would not do something if He would or would not do something. Maybe the words you spoke have sounded something like this, “Elohim, if you will do this thing I want, I will do what I should be doing but am not doing.”
We want Elohim to favor us; but, in our humanness, we know how the world works … if we want someone to give us something, we have to promise to do something or give something in return. Think back to when you were in Elementary School, at lunch time … your friend has a ziploc bag full of potato chips and you had a granola bar. “Hey, friend, I’ll trade you my granola bar for your chips.” It’s a system of bartering- as old as time itself.
And, really, the premise is fairly easy to understand. An adult goes to work and gets paid for the work he or she does. Then that same adult uses his or her money to buy a car. That money given to the car lot guy is then used by the car lot guy to buy groceries for his family. The cashier who took his money for groceries then gets paid for ringing his groceries up and spends her money on her rent. And, it goes round and round. There is bartering and an exchange of one type of goods or monies for other goods or monies.
Now, here’s the kicker; we can’t barter with Elohim. We can’t say to him, “Here, I made ‘x’ amount of dollars today; can you take my money and give me some favor in return?” Elohim has no need for anything because He is everything; however, we, human beings, live dependently on Him. We just cannot barter with Him.
That means, we have to accept Him on His terms. Devarim (Deuteronomy) 30:19 says, “I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your descendants.” It’s very simple; accept Elohim’s grace through the blood of His Son, Yeshua ha-Meshiach, and allow Ruach HaKodesh to lead you into truth and Truth (Yeshua) or don’t. It’s your choice.
Shemot (Exodus) 3:14--”I AM WHO I AM.”
P’yilut Hashaliachim (Acts of the Apostles) 17:24-25--”Elohim, Who made the world and all things in it, He being Adonai of Heaven and Earth, doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands. He isn’t served by men’s hands, as though He needed anything, seeing He Himself gives to all life and breath, and all things.”
Colossians 1:17--”He (Elohim) is before all things, and in Him all things are held together.”
Baruch Ata Adonai Eloheinu, Melech ha-olam, asher natan lanu et derekh ha’yeshua ba’Meshiach Yeshua. Baruch hu. Amein.
Blessed are You, O L-rd our G-d, King of the universe, Who gave to us the Way of salvation through Yeshua ha-Meshiach. Blessed be He. Amen.
